Question: PV ops Fedora 16 Initialises Hypercall Page Twice?
...ader.c causing one of those, in its main. I read the HVM Loader Xen wiki page, Googled, spelunked the source, etc. but cannot find where / why the other hypercall page is being requested. Is the other hypercall page being initialized by qemu-dm and the hvmloader page is discarded?
Sincerely,
John McDermott

Taking the derivative of a quadratic B-spline
...use smooth.spline is that there is no way
to impose constraints (e.g. >=0, <=1, and monotonicity) as there is
with COBS. However, since COBS doesn't have the 'deriv =' option, the
only way I can think of doing it with COBS is to evaluate the
derivatives numerically.

Polycom dhcp boot
Hi all
I have a few Polycom 331's but after following allot of advice I can't
get them to provision from a dhcp boot server. We have a sonicwall
router in place.
I can press setup and set the FTP boot server to my * box. From there
th phones boot fine. But I cannot get them to autoprovision.
I have tried dhcp option 66=ipaddres. 66=FTP://PlcmSpIp:PlcmSpIp at 192.168.1.1/

how to guarantee 1/numflows bandwidth to each flow dynamically
I am looking for a simple way to guarantee to each flow
going through my traffic control point 1/numflows of
bandwidth. I thought using SFQ would do this effectively
but it appears to be quite unfair: a very high speed
download that fills the pipe easily starves smaller flows to
the point where it becomes unusable (especially if they are
at all interactive)
Because numflows is dynamic,

Any suggestions on how to get this kernel to quit trying to use KSM, when booting on Xen?

Error installing VM: "Process exited while reading console log output"
...ay why the process exited,
does this perhaps mean that debian-installer is simply shutting down
immediately after booting?
(I'm sending this to the libvirt-users list because it looks like a
libvirt issue. Let me know if I should query a different list.)
Thanks,

Multiple comparisons when interacction]

multiple comparisons/tukey kramer
...hich provides a variety of options
>From the help list, it appears that glht is the preferred approach.
However, I don't understand what the options are. ?glht refers to a
very technical paper on the numerical computations involved, and I
couldn't find a description corresponding to the McDermott or AVE
options. I did notice that the Tukey option provides the same result
as TukeyHSD for balanced data. Is this the same as Tukey-Kramer?
As I understand it, there is no universal consensus as to which test
is best. TukeyHSD appears to be appropriate for balanced designs. I
have an unbalanced d...

Multiple comparisons when interacction
In the model:
lm.1 <- lm(variable ~ BLOC + TIL * YEAR , data=selvanera)
I found TIL*YEAR interaction significant. Then I am trying to compare
means of the different levels of TIL inside every YEAR using:
mc.2 <- glht(lm.1, linfct = mcp(TIL*YEAR="Tukey"))
summary(mc.2, test = univariate())
but it does not work.
There is any way of doing this, like the SLICE option in

unsafe_symlink change (Re: CVS update: rsync)
The patch from 2-1/2 years ago for changing copy-unsafe-links to follow
unsafe links on the destination side also included essentially this patch.
When I looked at it, however, I asked why in the world is unsafe_symlink()
doing strdup() in the first place. I think you could get rid of the
calls to strdup() and the new local variables and possibly do a couple
casts inside the function instead.

Test the result of a hiera_hash() lookup
Hi folks,
Is there a way to test the result of a hiera_hash() lookup in a manifest? I
am trying to use hiera to do most of my configuration, like this for
example:

''user1@localhost'':
privileges:
- select_priv
''user2@localhost'':
privileges:
- select_priv
- insert_priv
- lock_tables_priv

I can't seem to create mountpoint and change permissions after mounting in 2.7.3

I''m using puppet 2.7.3 on RHEL/CentOS and I have an issue which is now
a big blocking issue within my environment. What I''m trying to
accomplish wit puppet is a create a mountpoint, mount a filesystem on
it and install an application on that filesystems are set proper user/
group and permissions on it, but it fails big time.
The issues I currently run into are about 3

symlink creation using facter, but facter is nil at first run.
Hi all,
I''m trying to find a better way to implement this, but I can''t think of. I
have a jdk module that requires to create a symlink to whatever version is
the one installed. Say I install jdk-6u35, it will create something like
/usr/java/jdk_1.6.35. I would like to create a symlink /usr/java/jdk whose
target would be /usr/java/jdk_1.6.35.
The point here isn''t to ask
