rpvm/snow packages on a cluster with dual-processor machi nes
Caveat: I've only played with this a couple of years ago... I believe you can just add each host _twice_ (or as many times as the number of CPUs at that host) to get both CPUs to work. 32 or 64 bit (4 gb ram)
Is there any real advantage to using 64 bit when I am right at the 4gb ram threshhold? Nice plans to add more ram. The machine will just be a backup machie (rsync). Thanks in advance. D

Asterisk@Home Install Problems
I am trying to install asterisk@home on a Dell 1650 server. The setup cd runs fine and completes with no errors but when I try to connect to the web site (http:myip/maint) to edit the configs nothing happens just a page not found error. I'm not sure if there is a problem with my dual on board nics but when I check ifconfig I see the dhcp address info that was assigned for eth0 and then

[LLVMdev] Changes in MachineInstruction/Peephole Optimizer?
Hi all, The register allocator that I implemented is failing in the LLVM cvs version, but not in LLVM 1.1. The generated code fails a check in the x86 peephole optimizer: llc: PeepholeOptimizer.cpp:128: bool <unnamed>::PH::PeepholeOptimize(llvm::Machi neBasicBlock&, llvm::ilist_iterator<llvm::MachineInstr>&): Assertion `MI->getNum Operands() == 2 && "These

98 reboots after login
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've got several machines 98SE machies, but not all, that reboot after you enter your username and password on the login screen and hit enter. No noticable pause. The account used doesn't matter, and only 2 do it consistently. The rest do it only sometimes or for most of the workstations, work just fine. I'm using a Samba 3....

can't resolve NETBios names
...inux machine I can see the Internet through the DSL router, I can ping the windows machines by IP address, but "ping NETBiosname" returns "Unknown host NETBiosname", and "nmblookup NETBiosname" returns "name_query failed to find name NETBiosname" The windows machies have 192.168.0.99 added as a WINS server in their LAN configuration, otherwise they are just straight DHCP clients, and they can see the Linux machine as well as each other by name. The PDC is running Suse 10, and Samba 3. Linux network config: Netgear RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet Card static IP: 1...

samba-pam authentication
Hi Everybody, We are upgrading to samba-3.0.2a with SEAM kerberos and iPlanet Directory ldap server support. All the three servers runs in three different physical solaris machies. We are able to connect the samba and ldap. We are trying with security=user option in samba . For kerberos support, we thought of a solution of authentication via pam -pamkrb5 module. but samba fails for a pam authentication and it never contacts the kerberos server. actually we traced out the f...

Y no tienes porqué usar Spark si no necesitas una solución tiempo real o "near real-time". H2O tiene otra solución para interaccionar con Spark (Sparkling Water). Incluso sobre un clúster, puedes usar "sparklyr" y
