domU with gigabit ethernet or recommendations?
...y. At the moment I''m simply bridging two nics to each instance. Is this the recommended method? My only problem with this configuration is that within the domU, the nics are emulated as: eth0: RTL-8139C+ at 0xffffff000000e000, 00:16:3e:1d:33:bf, IRQ 11 eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x05E1 Module 8139cp Which does gives 100Mbps performance. Is there any way to specify the device type within the domU? The dom0 nics are Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708 1000Base-T. e1000 network interface takes a long time to set the link ready
Hi, In kubevirt, we discovered [1] that whenever e1000 is used for vNIC, link on the interface becomes ready several seconds after 'ifup' is executed, which for some buggy images like cirros may slow down boot process for up to 1 minute [2]. If we switch from e1000 to virtio, the link is brought up and ready almost immediately. For the record, I am using the following versions: - L0

Issues with r8169 gige on boot.
Hi all, I've recently upgraded a system from CentOS 4.4 to CentOS5, and now when the system boots, the r8169 ethernet card doesn't come up. After the boot sequence, if I type "ifup eth1 | ifup eth1.10 | ifup eth1.203" then the adapter starts up ok. It seems to be something with the boot sequence it loads the ethernet adapters a different way around (ie 4.4 eth0 is now

DATIC 2018 Summer Workshops Using R
...Mixture Modeling June 4-6, 2018 Dr. Eric Loken This 3-day mixture modeling workshop will survey techniques for exploring heterogeneous latent structure in data. We will begin by defining a variety of mixture models. The main focus will be on latent class analysis (LCA) and latent profile analysis (LPA), with applications in health and education. Additional models will include mixture regression models, mixture IRT, k-means clustering, and growth mixture models for longitudinal data. The course will emphasize hands-on work by participants, who will also be encouraged to make connections to their...

Looking for tor users experiencing crashes
I've had an informal, third or fourth hand report of kernel instability when running Tor under load on unidentified versions of FreeBSD. Obviously, this is a bit vague as bug reports go, but I'm interested in seeing if anyone has had real experience with this happening, and might be interested in helping to track it down. If there are kernel crashes, I'm specifically looking for

[RFC PATCH 0/2] virtio nvme
Hi all, These 2 patches added virtio-nvme to kernel and qemu, basically modified from virtio-blk and nvme code. As title said, request for your comments. Play it in Qemu with: -drive file=disk.img,format=raw,if=none,id=D22 \ -device virtio-nvme-pci,drive=D22,serial=1234,num_queues=4 The goal is to have a full NVMe stack from VM guest(virtio-nvme) to host(vhost_nvme) to LIO NVMe-over-fabrics
