Vorbis comment support in WMP
...claims to add APEv2 tagging support for various formats to Windows Media Player. Its Vorbis support is incomplete (it adds APEv2 to .ogg files!) but I hope the media library functionality can be integrated with Illiminable's DirectShow filters. I haven't really tried it yet. YMMV. Cheers, Kyungjoon Lee

Some comments on the Vorbis FAQ
...www.xiph.org/xiphname.shtml The Xiph names page seems to be in UTF-8, but its meta tag mentions ISO 8859-15, which can cause problems with raw characters for the pronunciations. I propose the use of the International Phonetic Alphabet. How about [?g]/[?g] for Ogg and [v?rb?s] for Vorbis? Cheers, Kyungjoon Lee

Volume changing à la MP3Gain?
...re (I can't remember *where*, but I swear) that something similar is possible with Vorbis files, but in approximately 2.2 dB steps. Is this true, or is my memory at fault? If it's possible to change the volume of a Vorbis 1.0 file, could someone please write a program for the job? Cheers, Kyungjoon Lee

Hi,
Hi, thank you for closing ticket 543, "vorbiscomment man page not exhaustive". :) https://trac.xiph.org/ticket/543 If it's not too much of a burden, could you also apply this patch, please? It's pretty straight-forward. Thank you. :) Cheers, Kyungjoon Lee -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Concerning 'tagging proposal'
...9;s proposal when I can think of my own best way to do it. I have the tools (mass-tagging, mass-tag-manipulating programs) to manipulate the tags just the way I like them, no matter how they're already tagged. I'm satisfied, and I don't think I'll benefit from a tagging proposal. Yet Another Vorbis Portable
Hullo, folks. As the wiki is *still* down, I'm sending this to the list again. The EZAV EMP-400 is a small flash-based portable player with an OLED screen. I think it's still in development, because I can't find information on its pricing anywhere. The memory capacity isn't visible anywhere either, but the previous device from EZAV had 256 megs of memory.

Firefox plugin to auto convert audio files into Ogg
per > http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=63653 The above thread on the Fedora Forums about a script that can automatically convert one audio format to another got me thinking > wouldn't it be fantastic to be able to right click on an MP3 (or other audio file) while in Firefox, and automatically have the file converted into Ogg at the same time as the file is being saved

Some notes on the FAQ
Hi. : ) I was updating my unofficial Korean Ogg Vorbis FAQ, when I noticed the following: While #ext is no longer listed in the FAQ contents, http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#ext still exists. IMHO http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#stream looks a little awkward. I suggest something like: Icecast streams Ogg vorbis to playsers like XMMS, Winamp 2, and foobar2000, which are all capable of...

Ogg Tags in Windows File properties?
I'm curious if anyone has developed a Windows shell extension to enable Ogg tags to be viewed and maintained in the File Properties window. This currently supports at least MP3 & WMA file tags. I would like to install one if there is one. I managed to find an Info tool tip extension for Ogg files. InfoTag Magic: http://www.contextmagic.com/audiotag-editor/ Regards, Ross. --------------

Codebook verification
Is there a utility available that will dump the codebook information for a given Vorbis file. This would be useful to compare my own implementation against as a benchmark. Actually, a utility that would dump all of the Vorbis metadata would be quite useful as a development tool.

Would Xiph be interested in a logo redesign for Vorbis?
So, in a thread on HA a user asked if some logo was the official one for Vorbis. It turned out not to be, but everyone agreed the official logo was ugly and a bad idea to add on any portable player compilant with Vorbis (or other Ogg media for that matter). The chaps, me included, started a discussion of a redesign, but truth be told, if Xiph isn't interested in a redesign, there's no

OggVDS Where?
Where can I download the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter? I've heard, that there is a newer version than 0.9.9.5. There's a bug in either OggMux or Tobias' Filter which causes text to be erased after special (unicode?) characters in the chapter list. Hello! Some Question.
Hello, My name is Chung Hae Young, and I work for NCsoft in Seoul, Korea. I am currently working on a online game development project. I have some questions regarding Ogg Vorbis. I want to change the library source and change Ogg game music files so the file can only be played within the game. I want to know if I can modify the library. And if I modify it, will if cause any legal

Independent implementations?
...estion is, is it alright to create and distribute a Theora codec which isn't based on the Theora code from Xiph.org? If VP3 code is in Theora, and VP3 is patented, does that mean that you can't write/modify a non-Xiph Theora codec without infringing on On2's patents? Thanks in advance, Kyungjoon Lee
