Hullo, since the wiki is still down, I'm sending this to the list. Yet another Vorbis portable has been announced in Korea. It's similar to the CMTech CA-C90 (which also plays Vorbis) in that it has a colour LCD screen. http://www.mpnavi.com/becommunity/community/index.php?pageurl=board&mode=view&b_no=70200 It's called the Toodis MPAL400, and it's about as tall as a disposable cigarette lighter.

AFAIK, there is no real CBR either - it is "just" extremely limited ABR. -- Tuomo ... Do not disturb. Already disturbed!
Hullo, folks. As the wiki is *still* down, I'm sending this to the list again. The EZAV EMP-400 is a small flash-based portable player with an OLED screen. I think it's still in development, because I can't find information on its pricing anywhere. The memory capacity isn't visible anywhere either, but the previous device from EZAV had 256 megs of memory. http://www.ez-av.com/korean/product/index.html
Kyungjoon, It appears that the EZAV-400 is still in development. Bit I am sure that if you send an e-mail to mailto:sales@ez-av.com that you will get an answer. Also, it appears that all of their other models have only supported proprietary formats. The 400 mentions oog vorbis, but I would definitely verify that if it was me before thinking about a purchase. Especially since the other formats seem to be very much into the Microsoft formats. I do believe to control instead of being controlled it would important that we write to vendors and ask about formats that are not created by Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, Sun, Sony and Oracle. They have a stranglehold on technology and creativity. Especially sinceOh, I heard it played Vorbis from the Vorbus guru at Telechips, so it definitely plays Vorbis. (Telechips makes Vorbis decoding chips for a lot of Korean companies.)
It is great to see .ogg HW support increasing.. It appears though that it is not supported as fully as mp3 in this device: MP3 : 8Kbps~320Kbps(VBR Supported) WMA/ASF : 32Kbps~192Kbps OGG : 44.1KHz, 64Kbps~500Kbps(Q1~Q10) It appears that .ogg VBR is not supported, nor sampling other than 44.1k. Also no support for lo freq playback, which i would prefer for voice only/non-music files. also, it appears that USB 2 is not supported :\ only 1.1 --- Saulius Gedgaudas <saulyz@migla.ktu.lt> wrote:> > both links works fine, did you see the price of it? > (i couldnt find it) > _______________________________________________ > Vorbis mailing list > Vorbis@xiph.org > http://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/vorbis >__________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
