Serving Samba through a Firewall
All
I am looking to serve a SAMBA filesystems to client at the other side of a
firewall, does anyone know what ports/services, need to be opened just to
deliver the filesystem. The client will initiate the connection and
hopefully use TCP, not UDP ( is that possible)

"wineserver: /home/Ani/.wine/config is not a valid registry file"
Okay went to: http://wine.dataparty.no/ form there downloaded the rpm,
http://wine.dataparty.no/rpm/unstripped/wine-cvs-unstripped-013001-1.i386.rpm
downloaded the config file and worked through the install guide. I
edited the config file to mirror my window setup:
c:\ = \mnt\c
d:\ = \temp
e:\ = \web
f:\ = \documents
g:\ = \music
h:\ = \mnt\cdrom
i:\ = \mnt\zip
then as a check did
$wine -v

cannot install codeweavers wine
I am trying to install the Codeweavers version of wine (pre-release 2)
and I am having problems. When I try to install (using rpm), I get the
message "installing package codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 needs 7Mb on the
/ filesystem". My / filesystem is not overly large, but I still have
approx 60Mb available on /. Is the error stating that the install
requires 7Mb on /, or it needs 7Mb more

[ncdf] programmatically copying a netCDF file
...to modify
from the source file, write the one modified datavar to the target
file]. (Please correct me if wrong!)
* I have a routine that (I believe) does the desired modification of
the one datavar.
And from reading `help(*ncdf)` and
http://www.image.ucar.edu/Software/Netcdf/
I believe (ICBW :-) I understand the definition, get, and put steps
that are involved in reading and writing netCDF. However,
* the file I'm working with is large and complex
* the examples above hand-craft their output files
So I'm wondering, can anyone point me to, or provide, code that copies
a netCD...

OK, what's the deal with the display, anyway ?
Does anyone have a consistent way to set the display for wine programs
to /anything/ (meaning something other than :0.0)? I have done the
followings:
ssh to the box I want to run the wine app from.
(As a result, DISPLAY was set to "tux:10.0")
I tried running
wine ./notepad.exe
from the Windows directory. This gave me the following:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by

hello, I need some help for using wine...
