autofs handling of nis maps - Centos4
...;t a real host out there)
I find it has mounted my local /disk1 as /facvs/foo. It seems to be
ignoring the key in the map pertaining to the host if it's not a valid host.
Does anyone know of a way to make it restrictive again and fail the
mount if the hostname match isn't valid?

NV5x out-of-the-box), so that's expected.

Re: CentOS and SL, together? -- attributing statements to me (that I didn't make)
From: Dag Wieers

What dramatising? At some point, several people decide that anything they dislike was said by me.
Several other people said far more negative comments about CIPE than myself.
Those comments have now been attributed to me.
I purposely avoided making it about whether or not CIPE should or shouldn't not be included, just why it

Kernel compilation - 2.6, x86_64, CentOS4.1
Hi
I am having trouble compiling some 2.6 kernels on a x86_64 box under
CentOS4.1. I cannot use xconfig at all and menuconfig on my system is
unreadable. It appears to be something to do with the Qt library but I
have all the necessary bits installed:
qt-devel-3.3.3-9.3
qt-3.3.3-9.3
but note that the second of these only is installed both for x86 and
x86_64 - the first is installed for x86_64

rebuilding anaconda for centos 4.0
Hi all:
I'm trying to rebuild the anaconda installer for Centos 4.0 (i386) to add some
RPMs and do some other things, and I've run into a problem. I've done lots of
anaconda rebuilds for Tao Linux 1.0, and I'm bringing those bits forward into
Centos 4.0. The all-knowing web hasn't turned up anything useful. It looks
like the PXE-loaded kernel unpacked and mounted the

openssh issue with PAM authentication errors
Hi,
I noticed an issue with the information openssh chooses to print from PAM
during authentication. It can be reproduced with the following steps,
assuming your system uses openssh, PAM, and allows password retries when
logging in:
1. From the root user on a system, create /etc/nologin with a message.
2. Try to log in with another session as a non-root user, but don't do a
password retry
