A couple of questions for the Mitel gurus (phone-related - not systems)
Hi Folks, Just in case there are any Mitel gurus here: 1) Is it possible to convince a non-dual mode 5220 phone to 'upgrade' to the SIP firmware? I have inherited one that's Minet only. 2) I have a 5310 conference unit and 5235 phone in SIP mode, but someone's lost the connecting lead. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the UK for...

Wanted - Samba Gurus to help
Hi, there are a few questions posted on the new Samba forum on Tek-Tips web site http://www.tek-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?SPID=865&CFID=34009252&CFTOKEN=12959894 which I am sure would be easily answered by some of the gurus on this list. You may be asking - "Why don't they just post the questions on this list?" Certainly, they could, but having used the Tek-Tips forum for other subjects myself, I find it much easier to follow the thread of a question on the Tek-Tips site and I think this encourages peop...

Swap: typical rehash. Why?
I can't resist. Read the thread that was pointed to on lkml. ROTFLMAO. *Real* UNIX addressed these problems long ago. I guess the "Gurus" suffer from NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome. Given a "general purpose" system, tunability is a must. UNIX, as delivered by USL in such examples as Sys V, had tunables that let admins tune to their needs. A single "swappiness" value is woefully inadequate. Among the tuna...

GNU Lesser General Public License gurus or WineHQ contact
Did you check out that iPhone SDK keynote? It makes me want to sell software. Do any of you GNU LGPL gurus understand the license http://www.winehq.org/site/license to know if we can distribute Wine to run our MS Windows executable? I'm sure it's something basic (for a license groker). I'm not linking with Wine, I just want to install it on the iPhone (if Apple allows it through their deve...

SMB gurus: please help - I am desperate.
I apologize up front for re-posting this, but I need to find a solution to this problem. I have been having hard time to believe that there isn't one person among the SMB gurus that doesn't know how a W2K client connects to an SMB server. So, if you happen to know even the slightest hint to this baffling problem, I would be forever grateful. OK. Here goes (original subject line was: "Why does a W2K (pro) client do more than it is asked to do?") Desperate t...

Re: [Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst] gurus & advice needed
> Looks like this is an AMD/ATI driver issue. Not really. I think you have missed the previous posts. It's the exact same problem with NVIDIA. And VirtualBox too. It seems Macs with NVIDIA can go a little bit more far, but they crash too. It's surely a wined3d issue.

I'm using wineskin. I tried creating a new wrapper as well with no luck. It just freezes and shows a black box on the left corner of my screen. I have to force quit it.

postfix spam question for the gurus
Hello, I have a question about postfix. I have a few webservers, each with their own mailing system. Obviously manually adding items can be quite tedious going from one to another to another. I am in the process of making a list of domains (commercial spammers) that bother me. My idea is to use the access file to reject them. My question is this... Can I make a text page on one of my html

Centos 6 - Networking: Some Queries -- GURUS HELP PL
With NM_Controlled=No in the ifcfg file, NM applet shows "Not Managed", so the ifcfg file is being read. What is the extent of interaction of NetworkManager with ifcfg files is unknown....very little information on the net. Seems Network Manager is still mostly unplublished compared to other utilities. Any pointers to literature on this or macro architecture of NM would be appreciated,

Question for Gurus: Sortable Lists
I''ve been stuck on this particular problem for quite some time now. If I don''t explain it well enough I''d be happy to explain more. I have a group of draggables and a droppable object. I''ve created a function for the Droppable.onDrop event so when I drop one of these items I check (via an array) to see if it has already been added to the droppable. If it

Asterisk Gurus - What is your best Asterisk Queue Analyzer and Asterisk Log Analyzer program out there?
Hi Guys, I seem to not be able to find any good open source Asterisk Queue Analyzer and Asterisk Log Analyzer on the web. The Asterisk Queue Analyzer is to serve as the graphic tool for call center or pbx admins. It will pull the info in queue.log and in MySQL asterisk CDR to create a graphic bar or to report on each extension that received the queue calls, etc... The Asterisk Log Analyzer is

Question of the day for SAMBA GURUS!
Hi, I have a question that I haven't been able to answer from the docs. I wondered if someone out there has tried to do what I would like to attempt. On our server, we have mapped a share called wrkgrps to drive G: Users then have various directories under drive G: which correspond with their department, i.e. accounts, personnel, etc. Each of these directories has a share which I have

Q. for Samba gurus.
Hi, I want to use Samba as a 'special' printer server only, namely a FAX print server for Win-95 and Win-NT systems. The users on these systems must be registered in my Unix /etc/passwd file. I noticed a difference in behaviour between Win-95 and Win NT that prevents me from reaching my goal. With Win-95, the spool file is created as 'user', with Win-NT the spool file is created

Dialplan Gurus? Can Asterisk 1.4x CHANNEL function be used to retrieve info about OTHER channels?
Hi Everyone, I want to know if a specific codec type is used at least one. For example, I want to know if out of the 100 calls on the system if there is a 1 channel that is running G.729 codec right now. If using dial-plan and I dial in, I can use this to obtain information about CURRENT channel. But it won't allow me to obtain information about OTHER channels and that is what I want to do. I

GURUs - How to monitor all MySQL actions on an Asterisk/FreePBX server?
Hi Guys, This is something related and yet un-related to Asterisk. I have a FreePBX/Asterisk server running and I want to trace everything that FreePBX does to MySQL. Is there a verbose CLI to MySQL that I can pull up on terminal and make configuration change to FreePBX and see it in real-time on the terminal as to what is added to which MySQL table and where? Thanks -------------- next part

Any SELinux gurus around?
Hey all, I'm having some trouble getting PHP5 w/ CentOS 5 to connect to a remote MySQL server using the standard mysql_connect() call. Yes, MySQL libraries are installed along with php-mysql... The only way I can get it to work is to run setenforce Permissive, otherwise the connection fails. The annoying thing is that nothing at all shows up in my /var/log/messages file describing why

Attention FreeBSD Gurus
I received this piece of code in a patch that turns on the FreeBSD http filtering. I completely missed that it calls /sbin/sysctl directly which means I''m slipping on my auditing. def configure_socket_options case RUBY_PLATFORM when /linux/ # 9 is currently TCP_DEFER_ACCEPT $tcp_defer_accept_opts = [Socket::SOL_TCP, 9, 1] $tcp_cork_opts =
