Everything works as it should, except for the following. Say I have a user
(an R developer) who has developed a package called Blaster. We'll call the
user guru. Now, /home/guru/Blaster, contains the needed directory structure
to do a normal install (i.e., R CMD INSTALL Blaster), but the user can't
write to /usr/local/lib64/R/library. Sure, said user can do a local install,
so *he* can use Blaster, but we'd like it so that changes guru makes to

Asterisk Guru help needed for DISA troubles
...disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw
allow=gsm
allow=ilbc
dtmfmode=inband
dtmfmode=inband
Why would Asterisk understand the tone for transfering to the DISA
extension, but stall with any subsequent tones, yet work 100% for a
direct dial inward call?
I'm perplexed.
Thanks for any insights a guru could provide.

asterisk guru needed for job in Chicago area
Hello, I run a small network consulting company in the Chicago area and
I have a client who is interested in doing an asterisk based VOIP
installation. My company does not have the necessary experience to carry
out the project alone so I am looking for an asterisk guru to lead the
project. I'm interested in someone from the Chicago or northwest Indiana
area who is very experienced with Asterisk deployements in multi-site
scenarios connected via VPN tunnels. The person must be very experienced

Emergency Asterisk Guru help needed -- Yucky sound with MOH
...ust remote phones that connect to my sip providers. I don't
think it's the SIP providers as this only started with the upgrade to
HEAD. I've also installed and removed format_mp3.so to no avail.
Anyway, I'm losing sleep over this and would greatly appreciate it if an
Asterisk Guru might be able to shed some light on this for me.
Thanks,
B.

VirtualBox virtual machine hangs after ISOlinux upgrade 4.05->5.10 and up.
Hello,
I have specialized linux installation which uses ISOLinux bootloader. Recently isolinux version has changed from 4.05 to 5.10. From that time there is a problem with VirtualBox VM, It crashes (guru meditation) on attempt to boot from HDD or hangs on installation from CD.
Strange part is, the very same ISO on ESXi VM works like a charm. Also burned on CD and started on "real" hardware works.
Tried VirtualBox 4.1.14 on Linux and Windows 4.1.12. Tried to change VM settings, no luck....

...I can keep track of the RPMS's and build
them into my own future repo. (That's another project, I'm sure I'll
come to the list for that one!)

guru needed: connecting to a second (remote) db that may not be available
hi,
My rails app connects to 2 databases a local one and a remote one. No
problems there.. The problem is that the remote database may or may not be
available at any given time. My problem: when the remote db is unavailable,
any time my code tries to query the remote database it hangs for a few
minutes until it times-out. I would very much like to change the timeout
value to something

Hostname resolve fails after upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5
...changed in Samba 4.4, it's no longer self-contained
but depends on winbindd. On the plus side, the amount of code that's
pulled into the "ping" process space by this dynamic loading is smaller,
which prevents issues in some cases.
I hope that helps,
Uri.

your data is spread across all 4 drives, and you lost 25% of it. so only
3 out of 4 blocks of data still exist. good luck with

| Dear All,

| I am in desperate need for LVM data rescue for my server.

oh, that step means you won't be able to recover ANY of the data that
was formerly on that PV.

OK It's extremely rude to cross post the same question across multiple
lists like this at exactly the same time, and without at least showing
the cross posting. I just replied to the one on Fedora users before I
saw this post. This sort of thing wastes people's time. Pick one list
based on the best case chance for response and give it 24 hours.

Dear John,
I understand; I tried it in the hope that, I could activate the LV again
with a new PV replacing the damaged one. But still I could not activate
it.
What is the right way to recover the remaining PVs left?

Khem
