Borderlands DVD Gamespy & DLC1 not working w/ patch 1.0.1, 1.1.0 & 1.2.0
This is kind of odd. I've installed Borderlands multiple times with no problems. I've played Borderlands to the very end of the game and to Playthrough 2 without any problems. The problem I'm facing is that Borderlands does not recognise the patch. This causes the game to not work with Multiplayer under

Multiple game server lockup problem (solved)
Ive made a couple of posts in the past about this game in which I
was running multiple servers under 20031212 and after that each
wine version seemed to keep a second and third server from running
correctly. They would lock up and when I hit the X button the
"Not Responding, Close Anyway" dialog would pop up.
Well it turns out that something that wine did made ethernet port

Speex with PS3 SPE support
Hi Jean-Marc,
We needed to use a release version of the SDK because this part of
production code for our Sony implementations. I'm not sure how stable
that branch is. Is the encoding and decoding already stable? In other
words, what is not stable about that branch?
Thanks,

Contribution to speex
Hello,
I'm Saad from Gamespy who makes use of the Library for Voice over IP on
the PS3. We would like to contribute back some code that added/modified
to compile and run on Sony's Playstation 3. What would be the process
to do this?
Thanks,

Speex with PS3 SPE support
Hi Jean-Marc, Jim,
Saad has been keeping me in the loop on your recent discussions.
Since all of our testing has been against 1.0.5, based on that being the
last non-beta version, that's the particular scope of the task that Saad
is working on right now.
I like what I'm reading about as far as encoder/decoder quality
improvements e.g. in the 1.2 betas, and am going to push for

Please correct me if I am wrong, Jean-Marc, but I do not think that any
patches are getting applied to 1.0.5 anyway. Also, if you expect a patch to
be applied, you will need to provide the changes as a patch, not as a
modified copy of the source tree.
The 1.2 branch includes a mechanism for private memory allocation from a
static buffer. You provide a usermisc.h file that replaces the

It's listed as "unstable" in the sense of "I might change the API" and

Port 32230 anyone?
Greetings,
Yet another strange pattern of traffic is being halted at the shorewall
firewall, but I have no idea what this is. IANA shows the ports
unassigned, and a net search yields only some of the same questions -
what is this port?
There are two machines as SOURCE, on the same class C network, adjacent,
even, sending one connect attempt to TCP port 32230 every five minutes.

production code
hi. i joined the list a week ago. i'm using speexlib as the codec for
GameSpy's new voice SDK [for voice chat for video games]. everything
works well. kudos. i'd like to make a contribution to the codebase.
i am bothered by the spew of warnings ( about 300 ) from my compiler. i
typically frown on warnings anywhere in my codebase.

I'm just saying it's useless to do any work on 1.0.5. It is inferior to
the latest beta in all aspects,
