I tried to use the Frauenhofer mp3 codec and I thought I succeeded when removing winemp3 from the registry. But the entry gets created again the next time wine starts.... so how do I use the Frauenhofer codec instead of the winemp3.acm.so. The only way I found till now is by removing/renaming that file. It appears the encoding software is being freely distributed, and hardware which decodes the stream pays a licence fee at point of manufacture. We have such hardware. In a number of locations. Hello dear all, my windows game plays mp3 sounds. (the game is C-evo) the game runs fine under wine except for mp3 sounds. my platform is Fedora 9-WINE 1.0. The audio test in winecfg works fine. Trying to solve the problem, I"ve installed a mp3 Fraunhofer codec in wine (an exe file) ; problem remains. At linux level I have no mp3 codec installed. Does any one has a clue to such problem ?
