Zaptel answering the Line
I have a TDM400 card with 3x FXO and 1x FXS ports on it. At the moment I'd prefer (till I can get it working more reliable with iaxmodem), for a faxmodem to answer one of the lines instead of the linecard. I've tried changing the context of that line so that the exten => s does nothing, but that stops the line from being able to receive calls (get a recorded This number is not

Ast/Hyla/IAX Scalability?
Hello everyone- I recently read the thread entitled "Faxing Success Rate on PRI" which dealt with Asterisk/HylaFax/IAXmodem. I'm successfully using this 'recipe' in a few instances on systems with only a couple of analog lines all the way up to a full PRI worth of Iaxmodems. However, I'm finding that I'll need to scale upwards in the coming months and would like to

Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
...t able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P on an analog extension off our Nortel Option 11C PBX. It's not the Nortel PBX--we have analog modems and faxmodems all over the place here, and even a Lucent Portmaster on a CT1, hanging off that PBX and all work fine. Besides, I've already tried several different faxmodems plugged directly into an S100U on the * box running RxFax, I've tried sending calls across my T100P, I've tried TDMoE on a lig...

External fax modem takeover of fxo?
Given all the issues with the fax DSP code and reliability, I'm looking into the option of using an external fax modem instead of trying to shoehorn asterisk into handling faxes properly... I'm thinking of hooking up the faxmodem to the line directly, then hooking the X100P to the modem's Phone port. Can I enable fax detection and use the fax extension to spawn an external command

NVIDIA driver / internal modem irq conflict
Hi, I'm having trouble with an IRQ conflict I can't figure out how to resolve. I tried KDE (which is great), but this required the NVIDIA driver. However, this driver conflicts with my modem. If the driver is loaded, then the system locks up when accessing the modem. If I remove the NVIDIA driver from /boot/loader.conf, modem works fine. I tried moving the modem to different slots, but

Hardware advice please?
I am quite new to Linux and have moved (almost) from a windoze NT4 environment. My present configuration is running SuSE V 8.0 with KDE3.0.5 desktop on two machines, connecting with Samba to an NT4 PC, and an occasional laptop or other PC that connects locally to the network. After a deal of searching, researching, and seeking advice I have decided to use Shorewall as my firewall.

Intel 536ep as a FXO?
Hi, I've seen some reports about ruuning Intel modem with 537 or MD3200 chipset running with Zaptel drivers as a FXO port. Did anybody managed to set up a PCI faxmodem based on Intel536ep chipset to work with * and Zaptel drivers? Modem seemd to work just fine with Linux, but the driver says no;) some more info: Linux 2.4.26 mazuchna:~# cat /proc/pci | grep 536 Communication

Neuling

Spandsp garbage
Good evening all, to complete test that I made in august (and which where discussed here) about garbage when receiving fax, I went more down in my tests. At first, my setup is an * CVS-HEAD-09/08/04, spandsp-0.0.1k, X100P (Tiger Jet Network Model 300 128k), kernel 2.4.26 on an SMP SoftRaid machine (2x400Celeron 400) and 448 MB RAM. I tried the same kernel without SMP. I tested with a HP

Foip solution
Hi all, I've cross-posted this to the -users and -biz groups. Hope that's OK. I have a customer who REALLY needs to be able to send/receive faxes reliably. I could probably get hylafax configured, but I'm not sure how reliable it is. If it is considered reliable, would someone let me know? Otherwise, is there a product/service they can buy that will allow them to fax to/from

Application Faxing using SIP
I have a specific business problem that I'm hoping someone has ideas and/or has already worked out a solution. My application needs to be able to automatically create and issue faxes to many different fax machines. The volume is going to be very high. And it is only about sending faxes and not receiving them. My application is hosted by an ASP but the Linux (Fedora 2) server is

Getting SPEEX to work
Apologies for the double post in re my SPEEX issues, but can anyone report successfully installing libOgg and getting SPEEX to work on Asterisk? Bottom line on fax reception
So what is the bottom line? Does it work or not. I've heard stories it works, it doesn't work, it kinda sorta works when it's not raining out side. Everything under the rainbow. What's the bottom line with recent updates on 1.2.x? Is it production ready for fax? By production ready I mean that it just works all the time and doesn't need any babysitting. Do I have to worry

FAX over IAX
Hi, We are looking at consolidating our lines with PRI. This will allow the elimination of many fax lines. Some of them will be replaced with this type of config ... PRI * IAX * Channel-Bank FAX We will have daggressor suppressor enabled. Is anyone doing this and should I expect smooth operation?
