I'm reposting this problem (perhaps a bug) now I've got more information on it. This is another point of view of the situation and I hope someone could have run into the same trouble before (and solved it :-)) This is it: * with ntbackup 2000 I create a 22Gb .bkf file in the windows machine. * I can copy that file over a samba share and get correct info form the file in windows

Anyone have same or similar problem? and how do I prevent this problem from happening again? I would appreciate any help. Thanks. Will Sun wsun@jpl.nasa.gov (818) 354-2311 Return-Path:

This leads to the INTERNAL ERROR, see samba.oulx Now, to locate the problem, I tried the same kind of command on the same file, bugs.ps, but using the SMBCLIENT application from the Linux server itself, without changing anything, nor restarting the SMBd

If you installed it as a daemon then check that it is running, and check that the netbios-ssn port is in a LISTEN state using "netstat -a". Note: You have xinetd not inetd on the redhat box. Error in PDC Event Log
Hi friends, Just a quick check, to be sure! I am using Samba 2.2.2-pre with Winbind, authenticating users through our NT domain controllers. I noticed this error (# 5722) in the PDC event viewer: The session setup from the computer SPHUS005 failed to authenticate. The name of the account referenced in the security database is SPHUS005$. The following error occurred: Access is denied.
