storing SOM epoch in EA
...tore epoch in inode on mds. the perfect solution could be to store epoch in old inode body, but there is no much space for this in the body and with DMU we''ll have this problem again. given the minimal inode size we use on MDS is 512 bytes, we can store upto 13 stripes in the body. larger EAs go to a dedicated block. if we add 8 byte epoch, then we can store upto 12 stripes in the body. so, epoch stored in EA affects only files with exactly 13 stripes. files with different stripes are unaffected at all. couple lesser concerns are: 1) cpu usage 2) epoch on old filesystem with insuffici...

some issue with libpri cant go past 1.4.1
...system with asterisk 1.4.26.2 libpri 1.4.1 and zaptel 1.4.12.1 With a digium TE205p. I am trying to update to libpri 1.4.10.2. When I do, incoming calls work but outgoing does not. When I do this I "rm /usr/lib/libpri*" then just install libpri-1.4.10.2 as normal. I then do a make clean in asterisk and make distclean ,then configure, make and make install. I do that exact same thing to get back to 1.4.1 as 1.4.10.2 does not allow me to call out. Below are the log files for both. I enabled pri intense debug span 1 for both a WORKING call and an ERROR call. I basically call in...

Help in E1-T1 encoding
...oftware. When I call to E1 asterisk signalling works fine, receives the call, answers it and playback a messaage. This message is reproduced with distortion like when you have an encoding ulaw/alaw error. I tried to configure * T1 in alaw configuring it in zaptel.conf but the same happens. If instead of calling from E1 PSTN I use any SIP phone, the message is normally reproduced without distortion. I could not connect * directly to a T1 to test it because I do not have the possibilty to have installed one in Argentina. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Alejandro G

problem subsetting data frame with variable instead of constant
Hello, I've encountered a very weird issue with the method subset(), or maybe this is something I don't know about said method that when you're subsetting based on the columns of a data frame you can only use constants (0.1, 2.3, 2.2) instead of variables? Here's a look at my data frame called 'ea.cad.pwr': *>ea.ca.pwr[1:5,] MAF OR POWER 1 0.02 0.01 0.9999 2 0.02 0.02 0.9998 3 0.02 0.03 0.9997 4 0.02 0.04 0.9995 5 0.02 0.05 0.9993* Here's my subset lines which finds no rows: *power1 = subset(ea.cad.pwr, MAF...

Purpose of the "ea support" option?
Please can someone clarify the purpose of the "ea support = yes" option in smb.conf? According to the man page, it's there to allow _clients_ to attempt to store OS/2 style extended attributes. As long as the underlying server filesystem supports EAs, this will work. However, I've se...

Samba 3.x SVN and OS/2 support.
Hi all Samba OS/2 users. I've just added OS/2 style extended attribute support into the SAMBA_3_0 subversion branch code. This depends on the underlying OS supporting EA's and (on linux) the filesystem being mounted with the "user_xattr" mount option and the parameter "ea support = yes" being set in smb.conf. Please check out this code and test it - let me know if there are any errors with using OS/2 EA's with Samba3 and I'll try an...
