xvm networking on 2005.11 (b94) with iwk
...org xvm community site, I still do not understanding the configuration of networking and would appreciate some assistance. Problem: I have successfully installed an hvm domU running Windows XP on opensolaris 2005.11 (build 94), and when the laptop (lenovo t61, core2 9300) is connected via the e1000g0 interface networking works just great (the domU gets a dhcp address and has connectivity to the outside world.) When i switch to using wireless networking via the iwk0 interface (Intel 4965 802.11agn Chipsets), the domU has no network connectivity and does not successfully retrieve a dhcp addre...

ISCI Network Hang - Lun becomes unavailable
I am sharing out ZFS ISCSI luns to my Mac. When copying large files, the network will hang in the middle of the transfer and the LUN will become unavailable until I plumb the NIC. This issue appears to only occur only when I am reading files (ie..syncing an ipod) and not writing (I''m not 100% sure though). When I snoop the interface I notice a bunch of ARP lookups. Any ideas? Solaris DomU HVM Network issues
...er, I can not get any network connectivity. I followed the steps accoding to documents on Open Solaris. I also followed some of the threads of the list to verify the configuration, but I can not fix the problem. running dhcp-server on dom0 over a vnic.
Before I post to networking-discuss I wanted to ask if anyone had tried this on this: I''m trying to run a dhcp-server on a dom0 over a vnic so that the domU''s can get IP addresses. I created a vnic r1 over e1000g0 and gave it a static IP 172.0.94.111/24 so I can run the dhcp server over this vnic. root@lm2-dom0:~# dhtadm -P Name Type Value ================================================== 172.0.94.0 Macro :Subnet = 255.255.255.0 :Router = 172...

How to configure default NIC when creating Guest
...i All, I have a machine with three network cards, and the third card(named e1000g2) is in use now. I want to use e1000g2 as default NIC when I create Guest. How can I change the default NIC? I can override the default value of config/default-nic property of svc:/system/xvm/xend. But xend still use e1000g0 when creating Guest. BTW, I can explicitly set "bridge=e1000g2" when creating Guest and it works. Does any body know how to solve the problem? Best Regards Jiajun

Cannot get second network interface working in Linux guest
...uest but it''s either connected to the wrong interface or not at all. I''d like to understand how xVM connects the virtual devices to physical ones-- I understand about the default-nic property of the xend service, but what about subsequent additions? In my dom0 I''m using e1000g0 and g1. g0 is the default-nic, which is on my internal private net. g1 is connected to my public DMZ net. I have tried pinging from within the domU, but don''t see the traffic when snooping in dom0 on either interface. Thanks in advance, Eric

snmp statistics for vnics
1 simple question about network statistics for vnics: We noticed that the statistics for vnics (used by Virtualbox guests) are not there. When the nics are plumped in the host OS, we do see them showing up, but all all records are 0. Can someone tell me how to get the correct network info via snmp on the Vbox Host?? Thanks in advance. dedicated vnic IP zone not recieving unicast traffic
...zones. My test host persephone, is a virtual machine running under VMware ESXi 3.5, with 2 virtual network cards (e1000), all on the same flat network/subnet. It started life just 2 days ago with a clean install of snv_95, and I LUed to 105 yesterday. To rule out any sharing issue, the first nic (e1000g0) is used only for the global zone. The second nic is used only by crossbow, for the vnic "zonevnic0", which is bound to e1000g1. sparse-template is the zone that I''ve been trying to get to work using a dedicated IP instance using the vnic zonevnic0. Using snoop in the zone, (or...

Upgrade from b113 to b122 - any gotchas
We are running 4 Solaris10u7 DomUs on a b113 Dom0 I''d like to upgrade the Dom0 to b122 but not rebuild the DomUs. Below is a typical DomU xml dump. Is there anything obvious that will bite me in upgrading from 113 to 122? Thanks John virsh # dumpxml achilles2 <domain type=''xen'' id=''1''>

RFE wish list
Actually, it is not a list.. but just something that''ll be very useful to me in my business. If crossbow/virtual interfaces can provide a flow that can capture bandwidth usage over a period of time (including 95 percentile), that''ll be great! Is this possible? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Using tun interface with dladm and flowadm
Hello, I am a rather new user to OpenSolaris and I have been loving every minute of it. I have spent quite a lot of time looking around for bandwidth management features and Project Crossbow is just amazing. It is truly amazing compared to what Linux has to offer. I would like to use flowadm to do some bandwidth management on a tun interface. The problem is that it is not recognized by the dladm
