Rails in Dr. Dobbs Journal ?
Hi,
I''ve read that Dr. Dobbs Journal''s last issue has a cover article about
Rails titled "Ruby On Rails - Java''s Successor?". Can''t find anything
about it in http://www.ddj.com
Does someone have the paper edition and can confirm that, and tell
how the article looks like, and so on.
Thanks...

[LLVMdev] Benchmarks
Dear List,
There's been some recent discussion on the list about benchmarks. I just
read a Dr. Dobbs article on the relative runtime performance of various
compilers (8 of them compared) on Intel platforms. The test focused on
mainly template type things but offers Dhrystone and zlib for
comparisons.
There's no clear winner as all compilers perform well in some areas and
poorly in others. The...

DVG-1120 questions
I upgraded a DVG-1120M to a DVG-1120S. Everything works great, but I'm
having some caller ID issues on incoming calls sent to the SIP device.
Using debug on the device, the caller ID looks fine - just as I set it in
Asterisk. However, the phone is showing "CID TRANSMISSION ERROR". Should
I check the RX and TX gain levels? Try another phone? Any ideas would be
much appreciated.

Can Asterisk RAS?
I am trying to set up somthing so I can dial into my asterisk box, and
have it behave as a modem bank. Is there anything like that already, or
am I going to have to write my own. I checked googls and found no
leads, but thought I would ask here before I tried writing my own, just
to make sure I wasnot reinventing the wheel.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

Disabling " !" command
Hi,
since I run asterisk as root with a CLI open on TTY12 I was wondering
if the "!" (shell) command can be disabled from the config, for safety
reasons it seems me usefully.
Tnx for any help !

Sharing RJS Templates
Hello All,
I''m enjoying the simplicity and power of RJS templates in Rails 1.1, but am
perplexed about sharing them. I have several templates that I would like to
access in various controllers, but if I moved them to
views/shared/whatever.rjs, my app can''t seem to find them. I changed the
name to _whatever.rjs and referenced them as "shared/whatever", but no
luck.

Ruby''s purpose?
Before I get flamed, I just want to start off by saying that I am new to
Ruby and I really enjoy this language and want to see it succeed.
But, what niche does this language fill?
These are serious question, not a put down of the language.
Does it has something to offer for Web 2.0?
Is it just another scripting language?
Does it suppose to replace something else?
Does it suppose to work with
