Question about demanded bits analysis
Hello All, I am trying to understand the demanded-bits pass. The example in the source code (below) seems quite explicit. In the example, only 16 bits from a 32 bit variable in IR are demanded and therefore the variable is truncated to a 16 bit variable. %1 = add i32 %x, %y %2 = trunc i32 %1 to i16 However I was wondering if for example, the addition demanded, say 18 bits, would this pass

Instalation of lastest version of Shorewall in Debian
I want to use lastest version of Shorewall in my fresh debian squeeze instalation, so I follow http://www.shorewall.net/Install.htm#Debian but, modify preferences file was not enough for me, I have to modify/add some other files in /etc/apt/ directory: 1.) include testing repo to source.list 2.) add APT::Default-Release "stable"; to apt.conf and pinning all other packages to stable

Discrete Event Simulation problem
Hi All, I am attempting to simulation an inventory model on R and I am having some problems. I believe the problem is when I define my demand rate is stays constant throughout so when I do need to reorder the model does not recognise it as I have the initial supply arrival time set to infinity at the start as no order has been played but I have an if statement saying, if the level falls below a

Shift-by-signext - sext is bad for analysis - ignore it's use count?
The thing is, we *don't* "not demand" those high bits. We *don't* not care what's in those bits - IR shifts don't mask their shift amounts. I.e we can't replace `x >> (32-y)` with `x >> (-y)`, which would be legal transform should we not demand those bits. We very much demand them. We just know those bits to be zero. And i'm not sure how to convey

On demand relay in icecast 2?

I added <on-demand>1</on-demand> to one of my relays on a 2.1.0 server but it didn't work. I have a server I'm planning to set up if this functionality becomes active. Steve P.

Fallback on-demand relay problem
We found an interesing issue that after a downed publishing point is restored, the fallback relay doesn't stop relaying. We've tried everything, but once /asf2 or /asf3 is envoked for /asf1 fallback reasons, they don't stop relaying their source streams even though the output stream /asf1 has returned to normal. Eventually we end up with /asf2 relaying indefinately with no

R import glitch "missing data"
Hello! I am trying import data into R and im running into a snag. GOAL: Import a 4 column, 8,000 row table into R including headers. WHAT I'VE ATTEMPTED: Original data was in Excel format. Converted data to both a .txt and .csv (to see which worked better) Imported data into R via commands as object "demand" (see below) Please excuse the long file path.

Spawn mongrel on demand
Hello Zed ! Do you knows or plan a way to spawn mongrel processes on demand ? I''m studying options to build an affordable but solid shared hosting solution. You wrote something very promising in your "NEXT STEPS", A combination of the ''"mostly C version'' and the mongrel_cluster replacement would be an elegant method to save much RAM on servers (until

icecast1 documentation
Hi Geoff, I'm a bit confused... After reading the docs, I was under the impression that icecast2 does not do on demand relaying? I did a google search, found this (well, it's a year ago) http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2004-February/006555.html Also, in the relaying section of the icecast documentation: http://www.icecast.org/docs/icecast-2.2.0/icecast2_relay.html There was no

calculating correlation of a Supply/Demand measure and price change (in high frequency time series data)
Regarding "financial" data: I have a high frequency (1 minute) measure of supply/demand and I'd like to know if it has any influence on short term price changes (also 1 minute). Question: How do I calculate the correlation between this supply/demand measure and price changes (correctly)? Some facts about that data: The price changes and supply/demand measure are non-normal. New variables "remember" how they were created?
Hello all, I hope this question is appropriate for this ML. Basically, I am wondering if when you create a new variable, if the variable holds some information about how it was created. Let me explain, I have the following code to replicate an example in a textbook (Greene's Econometric Analysis), using the systemfit package. dta <-
