Echo and crackle
We are running asterisk with a single POTS line for local calls and a voip line for long distance. Whenever we receive a call on the POTS line it is more than likely, but not always, going to have significant distracting echo. In addition to that there is occasional heavy crackle or static. I have tried to follow the guidelines at :

trixbox, sangoma a200, dell poweredge 2550 issue
Hi all, I have setup a Dell PowerEdge 2550 with a Sangoma A200 card with 2xFSO and 1XFS modules. The PowerEdge specs are 1 x P3 1133MHz, 512MB RAM. Sangoma A200 has 3 analogue PSTN lines connected. This server is based in Office 1, with 5 users all with a Linksys SPA942 VoIP Handset. There is another Office (Office 2) connected to here using VPN. There are two users in Office 2 with the

Faint background noise/crackle on FXS port on TDM400P
Hi, I have had this issues for ages but have ignored it, but my handsets get faint background crackle on the FXS port. When I connect the handset directly into my PSTN, it goes away complete, so I am generating this from somewhere in my asterisk box. I get it immediately when the phone goes off-hook and it stays through the dialing and call progress. I can't think of any other devices

speex crackling sound
...udent from a local university in our place. i'm not sure if this is the place to post this question so please pardon me if im wrong. my questions is that when i transfer speex encoded samples through a rtp session wire, upon receiving the samples i immediately decode and play them, but i get a crackling sound when i decode and play each sample received. 1) i used 160*5 as my wave buffer length when recording with a 8000 sample rate, 16 bits per sample and mono channel. i have set these values before recording/encoding: SPEEX_SET_QUALITY=8 SPEEX_SET_BITRATE=15000 SPEEX_SET_VBR=1 SPEEX_SET_VBR_QUAL...

Nexuiz (2012) audio trouble: loud crackling noises
As soon as the game starts with sound, there's a bunch of crackling noises and makes the game unbearable. http://pastebin.com/ji6urCv6 Also, before it launches, it tells me that I'm using an unsupported card, do I need a DirectX 11 card? I have an NVIDIA 9800gt 1gb latest drivers.

I have to admit though, after reading through the flatpak website about it, I still don't understand how it could overcome the dependency problem with the skypeforlinux

S100U == DEAD !
We have a S100U which we were using as our sole internal phone extension. Today it died. Picking up the phone now results in a brief dialtone followed by bursts of random static and crackling noises and then a second or two of fast-busy followed by silence and more crackling noises. I've tried the hardware attached to a couple of different machines as well as a couple of different phones. Having eliminated the machine itself and the phones I can only conclude that the S100U is the...

Snap, Crackle and Pop with Dell 1850 and TE410P
Hi, In regards to the previous thread about static and snapping on incoming calls to the TE410P card when using a Dell 1850 server I now seem to be getting significantly better call quality with two E100P cards. So far I haven't been able to make any calls with detectable static on the line. Regards, Aaron

TDM2400 Hardware Echo Cancel
Good Day List, I'm having some issues with echo cancel on my Asterisk box, and have done extensive reading and have gained some useful pointers from this list but have a couple of hopefully fairly simple questions. The Asterisk box is connected via 20 FXO ports on a TDM2400 with the Hardware echo cancel module. Echo cancel almost works, but the users hear what they describe as a

Sound problems with CentOS
Has anyone experienced this before? This happened to me even under CentOS 4.x. But basically what happens is that when I play MP3s, whatever the right speaker crackles at higher volume. And it's always that speaker and only that speaker. If I turn the balance to the other speaker I have no problems. So it feels like it might be a mixer issue. I use Alsa, of course, as that's what the

Wine 1.1.7: Sound regression?
I have recently formatted my system in order to install Intrepid Ibex, and I am now using it with Wine 1.1.7. I did a backup of the prefixes of the games I was using in Hardy / Wine up to 1.1.5, and imported them in my new installment. The games work normally, but the sound is crackling all the time for each of them; something which was not happening in my former installment. I have not noticed any threads about that, therefore I am wondering if this is a regression coming into wine 1.1.7, an issue with the new ALSA driver contained in Intrepid Ibex, or if I have to change somethi...

Problem with Dutch PSTN-line on X100P
Yo all, I have a problem with a Dutch (KPN) PSTN-line, connected to an X100P. The call wil sound OK at first, but after 10-20 minutes, the audio will start to crackle. Soon after that, this crackle turns into a continuous noise and the parties won't be able to hear eachother anymore. It also sometimes happens that the party on the TDM400P hears a very loud, short-delay echo of themselves,

Florz patch for zaphfc
Has anyone had any success using the Florz patch for zaphfc ? I have a * system with 2 HFC cards which is working fine with 2 PTP ISDN lines however the users are complaining of crackles on the line which I am assuming is related to the IRQ issues raised by Florz. I have tried to use the patch but it errors trying to patch zaphfc.h Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Stuart -- No virus

Cisco 7960 mic generating noise on other end
Hi, I'm having a problem with one of our 7960. They all run latest 7.4 SIP firmware. The problem appears on the other end. The other end constantly hears a 'crackling' noise. I have tested using phone set, headset and speaker and the noise appears on all cases. I have other 7960 setup exactly same way (using same asterisk, firmware, etc) so it looks like a hardware issue. I'd appreciate if anyone has any insight on this or any other similar issues bef...

skypeforlinux lacks dependencies, won't update
...flathub.org/repo/appstream/com.skype.Client.flatpakref installed just fine and the test call showed no problems, so that's what I installed at home too. The Skype flatpak at home worked beautifully, that is to say for about ten minutes, then the sound (using a Koss SB/45 headset) it started crackling to the point of not being usable anymore. I hung up and reconnected, then sound was fine, for another ten minutes at which point the crackling returned. Checking the sound prefs, I saw that alsa on the app tab had two instances, one stable and one that blinked like crazy, like it was opening and...
