Hello all, I'm trying to install Gentoo 1.4 rc2 for the first time on my laptop - HP Omnibook 5700ctx, P166, 128 MB RAM which cannot boot from CD-ROM. Apparenty Gentoo doesn't have a boot disk making utility. Hi, What the the size limit of booting bzImage file with syslinux ? I have tested different sized bzImage files, and when the files are small <800K, they work with syslinuz, but at some size larger they fail to work. This was the same problem loadlin1.6 had, but loadlin1.6c fixes the issue, and I can boot bzImage sizes up to 1.5Meg with loadlin, but syslinux fails. Can you confirm this

You say that there are rpm-packages for rc2 available for redhat9. But when i browse the ftp directory, i saw that it is empty. Hi, I am trying to create a boot cd for ia64 systems which will go into the efi shell, map to fs0 (cdrom) and give a help message on screen. I have tried creating a CD using isolinux but this boots as the Red Hat AW2.1 CD 1 and ignores the message file. After selecting the efi shell and mapping to fs0 then entering - elilo linux ks=nfs:<ip address>:<kickstart file> I get the message

Is it possible to allow login into one of my machines over the internet. I currently have Samba running as PDC and from my house, I can access the computer just fine when I'm using WinXP. There are no problems with that, when I'm at home, the specific directory I want is mapped to a drive letter. However I would like to be able to do the same from work. Is this possible? I am so stoked I just had to share this with y'all. I just "SEAMLESSLY" migrated all of my machines and users over to my new Gentoo Linux Server. I even kept the same: domain name and old PDC NetBios name. The trickiest part was getting all of the users to keep their same profile, but I managed that by cloning the RID and Lanman/NT hashes for the user accounts. Free at last! #
