polygons on scatterplot3d
Does anyone have any experience plotting complex polygons on a scatterplot3d display? I would like to present some spatially binned data in a 3-d type plot with background polygons (i.e.. a filled coastline map). I can get the coastline onto the plot window as a line type but cannot figure out how to fill the shape. I'm certain it may be possible but might require a bit of digging

Question about Icecast
Please help... I subscribe to a streaming audio (internet radio) service called "Coast to Coast AM". Thier server will not allow it's stream to be downloaded and saved for later listening. Regroup and create new dataframe
Hello folks, I have a big project to work on and the dataset is classified so I am just going to use my own example so everyone can understand what I am targeting. Let's take Target as an example: We consider three brands of tape: Target brand, 3M and Avery. The original data frame has 4 columns: Year of Record, Product_Name(which contains three brands of tape), Sales, and Region. I want to

Anyone noticed Voipjet voice quality problems?
Dear all, I've noticed some significant voice quality deterioration when calling US landline via VoIPjet.com in the last week or so. Before that the quality was pretty good. Has anyone else experienced any voice quality problems with voipjet recently? Thanks, Roman

Plotting from different data sources on the same plot (with ggplot2)
Hello everyone (and Hadley in particular), I often need to plot data from multiple datasets on the same graph. A common example is when mapping some values: I want to plot the underlying map and then add the points. I currently do it with base graphics, by recording the maximum region in which my map+point will fit, plotting both with these xlim and ylim parameters, adding par (new=T)

Member Server in Active Directory
I'm trying to join a Samba 3.0.4 (compiled from source on Debian) to an Active Directory as a member server. I believe Kerberos is configured correctly as kinit creates a ticket for the realm. Executables appear to have support for Kerberos and LDAP (smbd -b | grep KRB and grep LDAP) return OK. When I try to join the AD with net ads join -U myadminusername I'm prompted for my

Own CentOS MirrorList
Hi Guys Apologies in advance for the noise. I am interested in setting up my OWN mirrorlist like http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=7&arch=x86_64&repo=os&infra=stock where it pulls a few local mirrors, but mine would be statically set with 3 or 4 different location URL's Basically my plan here is, if the closest mirror I operate cannot be reached, it will try another

Independent variables omitted in lm and glm
Dear List, Some independent variable were missing in calculation using lm and glm (gaussian). (X= Y1+Y2+…..+Y16, Independent number: 16 variable) However, those variables did work well in cor(X, Y) respectively. str(dataframe) was also run to ensure that the variables were all numbers. Moreover, the missing variables were different in lm and glm. In lm, 3 factors were not taken into

Using termplot() with transformations of x
Hi all I was playing with termplot(), and came across what appears to be an inconsistency. It would appreciate if someone could enlighten me: > # First, generate some data: > y <- rnorm(100) > x <- runif(length(y),1,2) > # Now find the log of x: > logx <- log(x) > > # Now fit two models that are exactly the same, but specified differently: > m1 <-
