Polycom 501 dialing problem
...up a ringing line, I dial *8 and hit New Call
softkey on my Poly 501. For some reason, if I pick up the hand set and
dial *8, it seems to ignore or drop the 8 digit. I've confirmed that
this happens with all of my 12 Polycom 501s. Does anyone know what would
cause this or how to fix it?

Cisco 7914
I am looking into the possibility of buying a Cisco
7960 with a 7914 expansion module. I know a lot of
people are using the 7960, but I haven't read much
about the 7914 and I was wondering if anybody has used
this module with Asterisk?

Busy Lamp Field SIP Phone
...7960 + 7914 work well for such an application? Keep in
mind it has to show free/busy status of 20 although I guess we could get
by with 14 if the 7960 + 7914 is a solid option. I'm in Louisville, KY
if anyone knows of a distributor or retailer that I could demo a unit
from.
Thanks

T100P Problems
My carrier tells me our Adtran is seeing error seconds and timing slips.
Is there any way to check this on the T100P, maybe in /proc?

7960 TFTP
Are there any known issues with Cisco 7960s and any particular TFTP
daemons? I cannot seem to get mine to speak to a Linux box, but
Solarwinds under Windows works like a charm.

Polycom SoundPoint 501 Problem
...ms to be a problem because when I
dial an extension from the phone, I can see Asterisk answering it and
Festival responding, but I get no audio out of the handset nor the
speaker of the phone.
I'm running Asterisk stable and the phones are 2.6.2 bootrom with SIP
1.5.2. Any clues?

Call Recording with *
...oes not appear to be working. I'm using Polycom 501's
but when someone dials *1 while in a call, nothing happens.
I'm wondering if the phone or Asterisk is even detecting the DTMF. I
suspect that is the problem but don't know how to verify or correct.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

In the sccp.conf file,

You can assign a line to the button/lamp which is really neat.

...gram or web application for the >>operator's PC that shows
the extension, name, busy status, new voice-mail count, etc? Or you
could have it done by a consultant. In the long run, it will probably
be less hassle, cheaper, and much more functional than what you're
considering.

Forwarding behavior question
...and the extension they forwarded to does not answer, return them
to the voicemail of the originally dialed extension.
E.g.
Dial Tom -> tom's extension forwarded to Betsy -> Betsy's phone rings
but she does not answer -> return to Tom's voicemail instead of Betsy's.

7960 Stuck booting
My 7960's seem to be stuck requesting CTLSEP00036B75B542.tlv from TFTP.
I tried touching that file, but it just keeps requesting it. The phone
is using SCCP 7.2.

Forwarding out to cellular phone's voicemail with AMP
...e event that this forward is enabled and a call is
forwared to their cell phone but they do not answer it, it will be passed
back to Asterisk voicemail. They would prefer the call to continue to ring
into their cell phone's voicemail and be left there. How can I go about
this?
Thanks

Echo cancellation again ...
I have been reading with great interest the posts on trouble shooting
echo cancellation with *. Is it just coincidence that all of this
discussion has been with analog lines. Are PRI's susceptible to echo
problem like POTS lines.
Thanks for clearing this up.
