PRI dead in USA?
Hi- Because a majority of my customers are in Europe, I've gotten quite used to working with ISDN (PRI) and BRI on a regular basis. Recently one of my customers asked me if I could terminate a few lines locally here in the USA (California), so I called up SBC to enquire as to how much it would cost to install a BRI here. Although the rates were reasonable (except the installation), I got the distinct impre...

Ordering BRI From AT&T
Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a business customer in the U.S. (Michigan, AT&T Territory). I need to get 4 trunks into an asterisk Box. My intention is to use an Eicon Diva Server card with 2 BRI Circuits. The reason for this is that the business needs DID's on the trunks (20 of them). A full or fractional PRI is overboard for them, as they will never need more than four channels. I also don't really want to go with any kind of analog trunk for other reasons (Disconnect supervisi...

ISDN BRI hardware
Hi, Anybody have lots of experience with PCI ISDN cards and Asterisk? I'm thinking of getting a BRI in my house to deliver more advanced signaling to my PBX (yes, I'm a geek :-)) but I've never played with isdn4linux. Is there any particular BRI card that works better with Asterisk than any other? Also, can the BRI interface cards participate in conference, etc., since they aren't a...

Asterisk BRI in the USA
Hey all, It such a shame that BRI technology is such a flop in the USA. For a small office such as mine it would be a great product. So her goes my question.... What is a known asterisk working BRI card that will operate in the USA. I need to weigh price/quality. I need to do DID/DDI (or what ever you want to call it). Asteri...

mISDN BRI Asterisk 1.4
Good Evening, The company I work for is attempting to connect an Cisco ISDN Router to an OpenVOX B200P BRI Card so that we can get it to dial out across an existing ISDN PRI Line also installed in the Asterisk PBX Everything has compiled successfully and the BRI card has been detected when mISDN is started: # misdnportinfo Port 1: NT-mode BRI S/T interface port (for phones) -> Interface can be Po...

Which ISDM BRI Card for Asterisk?
Hello all, I wonder to have some feedback on using ISDN BRI Cards with Asterisk and the Echo problem. I have tried a simple BRI card with i4l driver and encounter huge echo problem. I have tried to solve it with a Sw chocanceller without success. What I'd like to know is wether some of you have used other BRI Cards (I have seen reference to Eicon c...

North American voice BRI - Informal survey
Hi, folks: I remain intrigued by the gap in BRI implementation between North America and Europe, and I wanted to get feedback from the list members on the matter. I'm seriously considering making the leap in our office. In Europe, the idea that an office that does not have enough lines to justify PRI would use analog lines is perceived as t...

HFC-S BRI Slack9.1 kernel 2.6.6 "Guide" bri-stuff.0.0.2
Hi ""noobs"" and others(like me). I've been struggling for hours,days,days,days.... to get my Asterisk work with 2x HFC-S BRI cards. One card for use in NT-mode for connecting my ISDN DECT phone, and one card as gateway to PSTN. Now it'works, and I just want to share some of the experience with others. I'd guess there must be 'Somebody Out There' having some difficulty with this just like me. Anyway, thes...

BRI and E1 in same system
Hi- Anyone using the Junghann's quad BRI card and the Digium E100P in the same system? I'm having a configuration problem where I can configure the cards one at a time (with the appropriate drivers loaded) in a system, but when I try them both together, neither will work. They both work fine one at a time. Probably has something to...

Echo on PRI/BRI?
Howdy: Does echo only occur on analogue PSTN lines, or can it also occur on PRI and BRI lines? If so, for the same reasons? This is a part of our consideration to transition to BRI. Japanese ISDN BRI card for asterisk (INS64) where to start?
Hi All, I currently run asterisk in our office (in Japan) and use a cisco PRI gateway for connection to the PSTN. I would like to setup some more systems for our smaller offices (in Japan) that would use BRI and preferably using a PCI card in the asterisk box and not a seperate Cisco gateway (expensive). HOWEVER, Japan has this INS64 protocol for their BRI lines and im not sure what cards are available that are compatible with asterisk and Japanese BRI (INS64). I know that it is supported by Cisco...

ISDN
Hi, I'm in the process of setting up Asterisk in a SOHO environment using ISDN for trunking. More specifically a BRI 2B+D circuit where one SPID is used for the business and the other is used for personal. The circuit already exists, but is presently being interfaced to POTS phones via a TA. This configuration is not very common in the US, but we are fortunate that our LEC offers it price competitively with equ...

Diva server 4bri and Portuguese BRI
Hello, I need to connect one diva server 4bri to a portuguese BRI interface. The operator (PT) said that this bri is in point-to-multipoint mode (S0). Previously one PBX has connected to that interface. The asterisk and diva drivers are working ok but i cannot communicate to outside via this bri. Xlite gives me the message: "call failed:...

[Asus Eee PC 900] as replacement for legacy BRI phone
Hello, I own one of these netbooks Asus Eee PC 900, mine is running FreeBSD 7.0, and a Linux based cellphone, the OpenMoko Freerunner. Since some time I'm thinking in a replacement of my 'normal' BRI phone at home and the two items mentioned above let me think that the replacement should be UNIX based as well. The legacy BRI phone, around ten years old, even has more or less the same size as the Eee PC 900 :-) Well, what I want to do is install Asterisk in a new diskless Eee PC 900 which comes...

BRI Newbie - What Hardware, PCI, in the US?
We are looking to lose the TDM400P in favor of an ISDN-BRI solution. This should get rid of static on the line (at least any static generated by our half of the circuit), right? I am a total virgin to ISDN. I understand that we need two BRI circuits to provide four voice channels, and that the hardware to speak to the BRI circuits can be passive or active...
