Digium vs. Sangoma
I don't mean to be a troll in any way shape or form. I was on IRC last night and I observed the following convo. below. What do you guys make of it ?
[02:14] <bkw__> Let me tell you how chidlish digium and Mark Spencer is. I walk into a restaurant with them all here at Astricon wearing my sangoma shirt and he asked me to leave.

[Release] Skinny Support in cvs
...precaited, however you should check with me
before spending time as it may be a feature I have already played with
locally and haven't gotten around to intergrating it into the mainline
CVS code.
I would like to thank miro_ for his patience and fnancial support, along
with [Sim], klasstek, bkw_, PavelL, theo and ManxPower for willingly
diving into nearly untested code and debuging.
Lastly, we cannot forget Mark Spencer for this absolutely amazing piece
of software!

* Configuration
Hi,
I am a beginner to Asterisk. Can anybody clear my following doubts regarding
the configuration needed?
1) What is the ideal system configuratin required?(like processer, RAM, h/d
space etc)
2) How many connections it can handle at a time?
3) How many Virtual PBXs it can handle?
4) Whether Postgres or Mysql is best suited?
5) How many IVR's it can handle simultaneously?
6) How many

Grandstream Quality Survey.... :P
...ple in the asterisk community have offered to write IAX firmware
for the phones but grandstream has give them the run around. If they
can't create stable and usable firmware they should atleast let the info
out to let someone write IAX firmware for the damn thing.

PS: then again you get what you pay for, 10 dollar phone with a 65 dollar
pricetag.

Asterisk and DMS100 Channelized T-1
...9;s plugged into a Tormenta2 Quad T1 Card on my Asterisk Box
running Debian 3.01(woody) with Kernel 2.4.22.
The Link is up but according to the DMS100, Channel_1 goes into RMB (Remote
Manual Block) and Channel_2 goes into LO (Lock Out).
I've been through all my Asterisk Configs with help from BKW_ in #Asterisk
on IRC and everything looks great there. The Tormenta2 Span 1 has a green
light and asterisk loads each channel fine.
I'm not sure where the problem is originating from so if anyone has any
helpful insight or feedback they could provide on this matter it would be
greatly appreciat...

6.0 image for Cisco 7960's?
Has anyone managed to get their hands on a 6.0 image for their 7960's
yet? Or is it still in beta?
Rumor (official rumor, from Cisco) is that it supports paging and
intercom. I'm anxious to start working with those features, if
they've been implemented sanely. What would be just as nice would be
NOTIFY messages for pushing XML URL's to the phones, but sadly that

Making "sip show channels" show sane results with sipfriends from mysql?
hi
using sipfriends from mysql from asterisk 1.0 branch, how can I make
asterisk show the true channel's current codec with SIP SHOW CHANNELS?
This does not seem to work, and bkw_ said sipfriends from mysql didn't
have that info at all. For what it may seem, asterisk uses G.726 as
told, giving me a
-- Format for call is g726
at the start of the call, but in SIP SHOW CHANNELS all these turn up as
ALAW calls, although SIP DEBUG looks like it's really running G.726....

Good day everyone,
A Solution now exists for those of you still looking for the first model of Quad T1/E1 Interface Cards - the T400P and E400P.
The T400P and E400P were manufactured by Digium until a few months ago, and were designed and released under the GNU Public License as the

Varion, Inc. is now in full production manufacturing these boards. With the

T1 configuration, getting help via IRC?
In my * server I have a T100P, connected with a T1 crossover cable to an
Adtran TA750 with 2 FXO cards. After I do 'modprobe wct1xxp;ztcfg' the
alarm on the card starts blinking red. Running zttool confirmed that
yes, it is a red alarm. I've read a few previous posts on this type of
setup and I'm not too much closer. What should I be checking next? A
different cable? The
