yes, winegcc generates x86 output. I ever conpiled it on a non-x86 box. I did not remember whether the generated winegcc generated native code or x86 code. e.g, how winegcc generates powerpc code.

I was trying to develop user mode windows on base of wine. I was linking my x86 simulator with wine so that I can have a JAVA like virtual windows environment. the didderence is JVM understands jasva byte code, my virtual windows understands x86 instructions. I knew darwine was going to do the same thing. the difference is darwine depends on qemu. I don't use qemu. my questions: why

the appearance was totally different. the toolbar, the about dialog. I did not know whether i was running the original image of notepad.exe. it goes the same on write.exe

I failed to link a .so built with g++ to wine. winegcc can not link g++ .o files to .so file. how can I use c++ with wine?

1) darwine helps linux with enough applications on none-x86 machines. user can drop windows/x86 away. it seems dar wine is a threat. 2) when linux people are used to windows applications on those machines. microsoft claims to compile vista to those machines. microsoft gets the world of those machines . darwine helps microsoft without any thanks from bill gates. what will happen next?

why i saw notepad.exe.so and notepad.exe.fake in programs/notepad. i thought wine dedeveloped a new version of notepad. I seemed wrong.

Hi I am an absolute beginner and have just loaded SuSE v8 onto a new computer I have made sure that I chose Samba and samba-client amongst the software when I loaded up. Now, wanting to access swat, type http://localhost:901/ into my browser and get an error message. It seems that localhost:901 can't be found. Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong could be? I give up. I had this working and now it isn't and I don't know why. I was able to sync unix password using smbpasswd but now it won't work. When I run smbpasswd it changes the samba password but acts like it doesn't even see the parameters in the smb.conf to change the unix password. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1.
