Disk Space Problems with Rsync.
I have a problem with rsync causing a filesystem to think that it is 100%
used when actually it isn't. A quick reboot will cause the filesystem to go
to about 70%-75% used. Below is the script that I am executing. I am using
Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf) Kernel 2.4.9-34smp on a 2-processor
i686. Does anyone have any idea on what causes this and how to fix this?

Can R work on very large of data?
Hello..
I am pretty new for R, but if I understand it correctly, when R read data by
doing something like "d <- read.table("/dev/stdin")", it read entire data
first then start processing..
Is there anyway I can tweak R around so that it will start processing as
data comes and not load everthing on memory at once? The reason for this is
because we have a case where

File transfer corruption (NULL characters)
I've got a couple of Solaris 7 boxes that are running samba 2.2.0. When
I try to copy text files from a windows 2000 client to the server, the
resulting file is filled with all NULL characters. I tried copying the
same file to a NT server's share and there was no corruption.
When copying to the solaris share, the windows 2000 client eventually
gives the following error:

Linking login and SAMBA on a PDC
I think this is primarily a PAM question, but here goes...
I've had success in setting up my Linux box as a PDC. I've also had success
in setting up the Linux box to use another PDC for password authentication
(SMB, FTP, login, ssh, etc). But I can't seem to get both to coexist. I
would like my Linux box to serve as the PDC and have all password
authentication pass through SMB. Is

Using pipe for input data
Hi.
I have asked this question before and Aaron J. Mackey and Tony Plate gave me
some great insight but I still can't figure out how to do what I am trying

What I am trying to do is to make R read data from pipe (stdin).
Say I have following files on my directory

Account Lockout using Security=Server
Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I am not a Samba user
although we have several instances of Samba running in our organization. We
are running into a problem with Samba machines locking out user accounts in
our Windows 2000 domain. I have found a little information about this but
nothing in depth. The Samba servers are configured to use security=server
and are using our
