New attributes in Samba AD
Hello James, About the warning, I only accept it and try to create a new attribute/class. However, when I put all the parameters (name, OID, syntax...), the system accuses that the server is unable to proceed. Do you know if Samba's schema is closed, that cannot be modified? Why I reinvented the wheel with M3F
Daniel, nobody has accused you of reinventing the wheel. You give up too easily. If you want to develop a standard, it takes a lot of discussion and input - and it takes diplomacy. Attacking people and attacking the community will not be helpful. You have asked for feedback - feedback has been given. Now it's time to think and digest. I for one have been motivated by the topic of discussion,

Resuming the discussion of establishing an LLVM code of conduct
Greetings all, This has come up a few times, and I would like to resume the effort to establish an LLVM code of conduct. First and foremost, many thanks to Philip Reames who sat down with me several months ago and worked through a number of suggestions that I've tried to incorporate into an updated patch with the draft text: http://reviews.llvm.org/D13741 I think his updates plus a few

Automating binning for chisq.test()
The standard chisq.test() and fisher.test() functions, when applied to two distributions (to determine whether the same underlying distribution applies to both) requires one to pre-bin the distributions. Is there a library function (either built-in or in a package) that acts more like the ks.test() function, in that one can simply pass the two distributions and have it do the necessary binning as

Self-hosting bots noise
Hi David/Galina, FYI, I found one big reason why self-hosting bots fail long after the offending commit is tested: dirty builds. In a dirty build (no make clean), when a file X is changed that breaks file Y, the bot will only accuse the failure when file Y is changed, too, so that stage1 with modified X will compile file Y, and break. At hindsight, it's obvious. But I hadn't connected

Disappointed
I have subscribed to this list for about a month now. I am just a MarkDown user; new to it. Using it within *Ema Personal Wiki & Epistle* for Android. I am not trying to implement this cool little light language into an app I am developing; maybe someday. I signed up because I thought I might get some MarkDown use tips. *I have learned nothing from this list.* I have witnessed a lot of

Clarification: Can Windows 'Network Drive' name be changed ?
This morning I placed a post on this mailing list as follows: In Windows Explorer, 'Network Drives' section, the Samba share I've set up is described as: share on 'Samba 3.0.14a-0.4-SUSE (Our_server_IP_Address)' (K:) Is there any way of configuring Samba to display something other than "Samba 3.0.14a-0.4-SUSE (Our_server_IP_Address)" as the Network Drive

Buildbots timeout
Hi Galina, I have observed that some of my bots timeout for no apparent reason (no external load, no network mishaps, no issues), and when I go to check the buildslave process, I see that it has just being restarted. Do you know what could be causing this? Swap is untouched, plenty of disk left, CPUs a plenty. So, I'm contemplating the possibility that the master lost connectivity to it and

R-forge getting the wrong package
After accusing someone of typing 'install.packages("weather")' instead of 'install.packages("webmaps")', I discovered that R-forge really is currently returning the wrong source tarball for packages after 'Repitools' in the alphabet. The data returned from available.package in install.packages goes out of sync at 'Repitools': RemoteREngine

fsck still running as of ext2 (even tough it is ext3)
Hi, I've downloaded and installed kernel-2.4.9 from rawhide in order to use ext3 support (I've also upgraded the necessary packages). I've used tune2fs to make the current ext2 partitions (incluind /) and changed fstab to reflect that. In order to test if everything is ok (this is a test machine) I've switched off with no shutdown. Except the / all other partitions accused

Problems with Windows XP clients
Fellows, Someone has probably asked about it before, but I've just joinned this list. I'm having some trouble with Windows XP clients. Here's what's happening: some clients join the Samba Domain normally but, after the required boot (always required - it's a Windows machine), the machine refuses to logon to the domains accusing that the PDC could not be found; another
