Intel (brand) Penryn (8xxx) motherboard which works natively with CentOS 4/5?
Has anyone stumbled across an Intel brand motherboard which both works with the 8000 series of CPUs and with CentOS 4/5 out of the box? (by works I mean the NIC/Disk controllers without "fudgery") The DG31 board "kind of" works but unfortunately it has 2 DIMM slots, the realtek NIC isn't supported (don't know why, its just a standard realtek NIC, although it might be

...for FreeBSD 4.8 and 5.1. So I'm wondering if anyone can provide some insight here. -3Ware has a whole new series of cards. The twe(4) manpage states that only 5xxx and 6xxx series cards are supported, but these are very hard to come by. Is the manpage out of date, or are the newer 7xxx and 8xxx series cards now supported as well? -Adaptec has a cheap raid card, the 1200A. No mention of it in the hardware notes. Is it possibly supported by the asr driver? -AMI has an "i4" card (series 511) which is not listed on the hardware list. Might the amr driver support it? Any other...

Pickup command
I am having a bit of a problem implementing the pickup command in my dial plan. I have setup this rule: exten => _*8XXX,1,Pickup(${EXTEN:2}) This works as expected when someone dials an extensions number and I can get the call. The problem I have is that when a call enters my welcome menu and does not press anything there is a timeout that sends them to the recepcionist. The rule is: exten => t,1,Macro(stdex...

UIP-200 conference call
Does anyone know how (if possible) to do three way calling on the UIP-200? There doesn't seem to be much info about this phone, but all the feature lists I've read says it can do conference calls. I can't seem to do it, though. Any help would be appreciated. -- Seth "et lux in tenebris lucet" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us

PRI QSIG and legacy toshiba intergration
...tensions later! Anyway, I am trying to integrate my dial plans acrossed platforms. PSTN>>>CTX670>>>Asterisk The dialplan I would like to setup, 1xx,2xx,3xx,7xxx to the CTX 670 4xx,6xxx to a remote ctx100 (this is setup using QSIG ISDN on a PRI tie line) now I would like to have 8xxx going to asterisk All of my incoming calls would be handled by the ctx670, mostly on DNIS equipted lines. If the user dials a four digit extension starting with "8" on the CTX 670, how do I transfer that digit string to asterisk? Going backwards, the asterisk user dialing a CTX extension,...

Centos 5.6 3ware raid 5
Hi, I've seen comments about the poor performance of these cards with raid 5 configs. I have an old card with 3 x 500G IDE drives connected in raid 5 and I'm getting around 10mb/s write performance. :-( I'm seeing high iowait figures at times and associated very high cpu load average figures, probably because, under load, everything is stacked up waiting for the disks to actually

Some 3Ware questions
I have not used RAID controller boards to date since I have relied on the built in RAID on the motherboards. Thanks to the informative message Byron, I realize the deficiencies of doing RAID 1 this way, especially now that the builtin is out of date with Kernel used by Centos. I have 4 ATA drives that were configured in two pairs. I assume that I need a 3Wave controller that has 4 ports
