Installing Packages from a Local Repository
Hi everyone, I've followed the instructions from R-Admin Section 6.6 for creating a local repository. I've modified my Rprofile.site file to add the local repository to my repos, but I haven't been able to successfully install my package from the repo. Here's the code that I've run. ################################## sessionInfo() getOption("repos")

Ubuntu 12.04 and R 2.15
I'm not sure this is the location to pose this question.  If not, please let me know.   Does anyone know if R 2.15 is can be built for Ubuntu 12.04? ( I did attempt a build and it failed to configure due to missing X11 headers/libs. )   I'm trying to install some R packages that are not available for R 2.14, which is the last supported version available under Ubuntu 12.04.   I can update

locked binding of setwd() in R 2.15.x causes .Rprofile to fail
[Env: Win XP, R 2.14.2, R 2.15.0] I have a replacement function for setwd() in my .Rprofile which displays the current R path in the R window title. It no longer works in R 2.15.x, giving the error below. Worse, the error prevents the rest of my .Rprofile script from completing. Is there some way to rescue this, i.e., preserve this behavior in R 2.15? If not, how can I modify my script so it

Errors Updating Libraries (2.15)
I just upgraded from 2.14 to 2.15 and have run into an issue upgrading libraries that I've not had in previous version upgrades. For example, trying to install reshape2 for 2.15 throws errors and I don't see what to change to over come the problem: > install.packages("reshape2") Installing package(s) into ?/home/rshepard/R/i486-slackware-linux-gnu-library/2.15? Lack of -O2 (or -O) gcc compiler flag causes package installation failure
Hello all - first time poster long time reader, I'm currently working on a package, and was interested to compare performance with and without gcc/g++ -O based optimization. I can turn the -O flags off with a ~.R/Makevars file, but when I do something odd happens. The package installs fine when gcc is fed -O2 or -O3 *install with* R CMD INSTALL --configure-args="CFLAGS=-g CXXFLAGS=-g

what folder to run write_PACKAGES in?
I set up a local repo for testing packages. My packages are not showing up from the repository when viewed by Linux clients. I suspect this is a web administrator/firewall issue, but it could be I created the repo wrongly. I am supposed to run write_PACKAGES separately in each R-version folder. Right? Maybe other novices can use these scripts, if they are not wrong :) Here's the file
