Cisco 7960 Support Products
I just tried to order the CON-SNT-CP7960 part from CDW. This is the ~$8 1yr support contract that's supposed to give access to the Cisco download site for firmware for the 7960 . wellll, I got a call from CDW saying that Cisco wouldn't authorize them to sell that product to me. The sales rep conferenced me in with the CDW Cisco person and he explained that CON-SNT...

request: add TCP buffer options to rsync CLI?
We see absolutely dismal performance from Canberra to Perth via Aarnet or Grangenet (gig connections across the country). With standard rsync on a tuned tcp stack, we see about 700k/s. I started playing with the --sockopts and have increased the performance to 1.4M/s which is better, but still way off the pace. There are similar patches for ssh at

Puppet system deployment hanging ..
We have successfully installed puppet on a CentOS Server, but I am battling with a deployment. It has to do with grid software. The repository gets created, then begins installation. The problem is that it just hangs - no errors, no network activity. I can see puppet is running, but nothing it being updated. Any pointers ? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google

looking for some advice to monitor network usage in office
Hi all, I've been asked by a college to setup a monitor to monitor a Windows network, but on internet usage. They want to have detailed usage, i.e. on a per IP / PC basis, and if possible to get stats for every protocol, and see over a period of time what goes on. My first though wat ntop, which does all of this, but it doesn't save the data in a DB, so if the server reboots the stats

How to handle INT8 data
Hi, I do have < INT_MAX. This looks attractive but since they are unique identifiers, storing them as factor will be likely to be counter-productive. (a string version + an int32 for each) I was looking to https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/csvread/index.html This looks like a good feet for my needs. Any chances such an external package for int64 would be integrated in core ? Le 20

Theora in SVG+JavaScript?
Hi, I was just reading on Adobe Flash<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flash>and the components which make it up: SWF, ActionScript, and FLV. >From what I've read, SVG is competing with SWF as the format of vector graphics in web design, while ActionScript is an ECMAScript like JavaScript. Hence, SVG + Javascript can provide an interactive, animated, open, non-proprietary web

Backing up ZFS snapshots
I have an OpenSolaris snv_105 server at home that holds my photos, docs, music, etc, in a zfs pool. I backup my laptops with rsync to the OpenSolaris server. All of my important data is in one place, on the OpenSolaris server. I want to backup this data. I want to protect against losing my data, and I would also like to recover previous versions of files when I make mistakes. * I do not have a

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
