[Samba] Question about performance difference between samba4 versions
Hi, Can somebody maybe explain to me why there is a (huge) difference between the default samba package in ubuntu trusty (4.1.6) and the from source compiled stable version. I cannot find the reason why the ubuntu version is so much faster when doing a move (50 items p/sec) of a bunch of files and doing the same move on the compiled version of samba (2 items p/sec). Generic transfer rates (normal read/write operations) are no problem, I only notice the drop in performance rate while doing an explicit move of (50+) files from one subdirectory to another. Source and target share is the same. Such a move operation should be close to instant. Did I miss something? Grt,
Jeremy Allison
