[Samba] smbclient using SMB2+ against NetApp OnTap 8.2 anyone ?
So I just spent a frustrating day trying to get smbclient from 4.2.x and master connecting to a NetApp 8.2 box using SMB2 or SMB3 with NTLM auth. Short answer - it doesn't work :-(. Longer answer - the NetApp is choking on something inside the SPNEGO NTLMSSP packets we're sending it - giving the error that it couldn't parse the SPNEGO packet. Unfortunately (and knowing bugger-all about NetApps) it doesn't tell me *what part* of the packet it can't parse. Does anyone have access to a NetApp 8.2 box who knows how to get good debug info out of the thing ? I'll log a bug and upload successful connect from Win7 and a fail connection trace from 4.2.0 smbclient so we can track this, but I'm a bit stymied without good errors from OnTap. Jeremy.

Anyone ? I'm really hoping there's someone on the list who at least uses NetApp. Or is everyone here such a die-hard Samba fan they don't have any NetApp on the premises :-).

Virtual-machine "simulators" are available from NetApp, but unfortunately I think that some sort of support account/connection is required.
