Was wondering if it's possible to assign specific users a proxy server for web browsing. My current setup is openldap, samba pdc and a squid proxy server. Our call center uses the web alot and I'd like to have them use the proxy. The agents don't usually login to the same windows machine. Is this possible via samba or netlogon? I'd hate to have to edit the group policies on 50 machines. Thanks.

The other option is to use nt4 style policies (NTconfig.pol) however since Vista doesn't support these they are pretty much a dead end, might as well go with the vbscript from the start. *Michael Heydon - IT Administrator * michaelh@jaswin.com.au <mailto:michaelh@jaswin.com.au>
i suggest u could use a WPAD soluton bij dhcp of through ie discovery read about it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Proxy_Autodiscovery_Protocol and you can combine this with policies. louis>-----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- >Van: samba-bounces+belle=bazuin.nl@lists.samba.org >[mailto:samba-bounces+belle=bazuin.nl@lists.samba.org] Namens >Bryan Payne >Verzonden: maandag 1 december 2008 23:36 >Aan: samba@lists.samba.org >Onderwerp: [Samba] Specifying proxy server per user > >Was wondering if it's possible to assign specific users a proxy server >for web browsing.
