Here at the College we have configured a Samba server as an ADS member server and have everything working nicely except one rather large detail. The people that setup the domain accounts have custom "profile" and home drive locations depending on the last two characters of the user name. For example a user with the id of 545238794 will have their profile pointed to \\servername\profiles\9\4\545238794 and their home directory is pointed to \\servername\users\9\4\545238794 Now Samba handles the profile directory without problem with a small script to create the folder with "root preexec", however, there doesn't seem to be a way to have the home mapped. In the log files it always points to /home/domain/username no matter what is set from ADS. Is it possible to have the home mapped differently? If so how? The word 'incompatible' is a dirty word. It's time to run those who insist on using it out of the business."
