[Samba] Problems with Login after migration from 2.8. to 3.0.5
Hello, on a server i did an upgrade from version 2.2.8 to 3.0.5. The machine runs with RedHat 7.3. The 2.2.8 version was built from the makerpms.sh script. The samba server is configured as Domain Controller. The version 3.0.5 was built the same way and installed via rpm. Now nobody can use domain logins. In the logfiles i found entries like this:>--- cut here ----[2004/07/26 17:30:19, 1] auth/auth_util.c:make_server_info_sam(821) User mh802 in passdb, but getpwnam() fails! [2004/07/26 17:30:19, 0] auth/auth_sam.c:check_sam_security(260) check_sam_security: make_server_info_sam() failed with 'NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER'>--- cut here ----Bevore posting here (may) unwanted and not so helpful details i want to ask what informations i can provide to solve thsi issue. These things may relevant: - all users exist in /etc/passwd - all machine accounts exist in /etc/passwd - i tried both smbpasswd (the old style) and tdbsam I am running out of ideas. Further problem is, the machine is located in asia while i am sitting in europe. I do not have any direct access to the hardware (just per ssh a login). I am not sure if i can siumlate a login from (for example) a XP station. Any help is appreciated.
