[Samba] Oct 1, 2004 -- End-Of-Life for Samba 2.2.x
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Attention all administrators of Samba 2.2.x installations: The Samba 2.2 code base has been in maintenance mode for several months (since the release of Samba 3.0.0) with no active development currently taking place. Samba 3.0 is now firmly established and we feel that it is time to declare an end-of-life for Samba 2.2. The main implication is that we will no longer be providing security fixes for Samba 2.2.x after October 1, 2004. Individuals are free to backport fixes from 3.0 to 2.2 on their own (that's the beauty of open source right?), but Samba.org will no longer be providing official patches or releases for the 2.2 source tree following the cutoff date. Thanks to everyone who helped to make Samba 2.2 a success and are continuing to build the Samba community. cheers, jerry - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Alleviating the pain of Windows(tm) ------- http://www.samba.org GnuPG Key ---- http://www.plainjoe.org/gpg_public.asc "If we're adding to the noise, turn off this song" --Switchfoot (2003) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFA/7o4IR7qMdg1EfYRAlMcAKCGQfi4vLvlhyxmV6sARp8o5E5iVwCdFwy3 S8wjG+IB0MB0BlOtrwEeGgk=OWgU -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
