I have been running samba 2.2.8a with approx 400 users accessing it for their network drives. What I need to do now is to upgrade it to version 3.0.6. Hello, I'm trying to add a user to big list of Samba groups, 74 groups to be precise. The problem is that when the user reaches around 65 to 70 groups, it starts giving errors in User Manager for Domains, and causes a panic in Samba. i'm currently running samba 2.2.8a as a domain member server to an NT4Server.... no problems will be upgrading the PDC to a W2K server next week... there isn't a need to use LDAP with Samba with W2KServer is there ? I can still go with my current setup can I ?

I'm trying to understand the relationship between these 3 options: Realm = MYGROUP.COM Security = ADS Workgroup = MYGROUP And my samba file server is a member of AD My server is W3K Nothing seemed to work until I specified the realm Do I also NEED the workgroup parameter ? It seems like the files sent to the samba spool and then over to CUPS seem to stay in the /var/spool/samba directory indefinately. Is there a fix to this via a configuration, or just setting up a cron job to purge? Thanks

We have been using the same setup for years .. now we have introduced ADS server ala windows 2003.. joining with samba 2 with Security = DOMAIN gives an "unable to join domain" message. So I have installed samba 3, now joining the domain is fine, and on linux everything works perfectly, but on solaris it seems to ignore the "username map" option. Here is the config that
