[Samba] Error make_server_info_info3: pdb_init_sam failed!
Hi, Not sure whether you have resolved it. Hope it may help... I got same problem with the following error mesg (on Fedora/Linux) smbd[7287]: [2004/07/14 19:45:42, 0] auth/auth_util.c:make_server_info_info3(1100) smbd[7287]: make_server_info_info3: pdb_init_sam failed! In my case, check "use ldap" using authconfig. or enable it manually in /etc/nsswitch.conf will resolve the issue. But I don't understand why it occured in my trustrelationship, OLDDOM (winNT) <-> NEWDOM (Linux) I got above error when using #smbclient //<NEWDOMserver>/tmp -W OLDDOM -U <OLDDOMuser> Since the authentication go to OLDDOM, why it pass to auth_util.c and error? Only user who has unix account in /etc/passwd (eq to OLDDOMuser) can connect. Others, I have to turn on ldap in nsswitch.conf (authconfig) Any idea? [global] workgroup = NLRESOURCES security = DOMAIN password server = nlresod01,nlresod02 All users in the EMEA domain can access the shares without any problems. Except for one user. This user cannot access any of the shares.>From the log file:[2004/04/06 11:23:33, 0] auth/auth_util.c:make_server_info_info3(1080) make_server_info_info3: pdb_init_sam failed! As far as I can tell all users have the same settings. Any idea what could be the problem? Thanks, Simon. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
