samba - May 2004 - Samba 3.0.4-1 Error

The messages log file shows a whole series of the following error messages:

May 26 10:12:22 dbserver smbd[9036]: [2004/05/26 10:12:22, 0] 
lib/substitute.c:alloc_sub_basic(505)
May 26 10:12:22 dbserver smbd[9036]:   alloc_sub_basic: NULL source 
string!  This should not happen


What is the cause of this, and what do I need to do to correct it?

Any chance you can attach to the process with a debugger and get
a stack backtrace ? Or explain exactly how to reproduce ?
