Hi all, I have a samba 3.0.2a installation on a mandrake 9.2 linux box. Global config is "share level" In this samba server I need : 1- One read only share for anonymous users (win9x-win2k-...) 2- One read/write share for one authentified user (accessible from a dos floppy drive and for win9x - win2k computer All is fine except that before I reinstall this new samba server, I was accessing another winnt4 share with dos floppy drive , using "net use" command. My problem is with passwords encryption I cannot access the samba 3.0.2a share throught my floppy disk. So I putted "null password" autorized into global configuration of SAMBA, but now ,even I want to connect with a user with password (into win2k for example) the password needs to be "null" ! but the user have a passwd ! it is a security problem now. What best configuration could I put into this server - according to what I need to do (see before 1 & 2) ? Is there a way to give an encrypted password with a dos floppy boot drive and "net use" connexion ? Any help should be appreciated. Thanks Xavier

Selon john.nelson@teradyne.com: Yes , I anderstood this John, thanks. My Samba 3.0.2 is on a security=share level. My problem is that I have ONE share for anonymous users , it's ok. And another share for ONE user authenticated and it is ok too for the point of vue of windows OS. But using LAN MANAGER onto DOS Floppy disk, I cannot connect to the second one due to encrypted password! Is there a way to use encrypted password with LAN MANAGER with old DOS ? Thanks.
