You should be able to click Tools/Disconnect Network Drive from a Windows Explorer window, then select the connection to the Samba server and click ok. Note, this can be done even if the connection was not mapped to a drive letter, such as by typing \\server\share in the run box. You can then map a drive to the server with a different user account. Thanks Steve, I've just tried that but it doesn't work - the PC seems to remember the last login name and password and reconnects to the server as that user again :-( Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aden, Steve" <saden@itscommunications.com> To: <samba@lists.samba.org> Sent: Tuesday, March 16, 2004 3:29 PM Subject: RE: [Samba] clients logout ............. Mike, How are you specifying the new login name? If using the map network drive gui, you would need to click the link that says "Connect using a different name" (different being other than the logged on user). If mapping with the net use command, you can specify a different user by doing something like this: "net use * \\server\share /user:domain\username *". The * at the end will cause the program to prompt for a password. If you connect via a UNC from the run box or explorer address bar, Windows will attempt to connect with the logged on user or if there is a current connection to the server, it will try to use the id in use by the other connection. You will not be able to connect with another userid until all connections to the server are disconnected. Windows will give you an error which say something about not allowing multiple connections to a server with different credentials.
