Samba + ACL
I wish to realize a file-server with SAMBA integrated in my network domain
(Windows NT4 PDC).
To manage the user access for each share in the Samba file-server, I would
use Active Control Lists.
Anyone can tell me
- what type and version of Linux is best for my purpose ?
- what Samba version is best to use ?
Thanks. Marco

Samba as remote file share
Hello,
I have a client who is hoping to use Samba over the internet. He hopes
to be able to setup a single mount point that can be used by employees
from various locations via their broadband internet connections. The
clients will be a mixture of Linux, Windows 98, and Windows 2000/XP
machines. I know that a solution like this would be possible if all of
the clients and the server were on

NT/ADS and UNIX user convergence using Samba
Hi-
I'm deploying a fileserver running Samba 3.0.2a in an environment that
contains NT and UNIX users. I'd like to have my fileserver set up as
follows:
- Users connecting to the fileserver from NT boxes are authenticated against
the Win2K ADS Domain Controller.
- Users connecting to the fileserver from other UNIX boxes are authenticated
locally using NIS and access the shared volume

Unable to join Windows 2k AD NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I am having horrendous issues with trying to get Samba 3.0.4 to join to
a Windows 2000 AD (patched to current). As this one is hurting a bit
and needs to be fixed soon, I was hoping I may find salvation in this
list from someone here who may be able to shed some useful light on this
issue. I am using the latest gentoo mit-krb5 build.
Net join always results in NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED - this
