Hello! I want install samba 2.2 in several point (and different subnets). But looks like that I'll need to have smb access for all points (domains) computers from w2k or win9x workstations. As I know samba don't support wins replication. Is it possible to make all domains (workgroups) visible in all points? Hi, We have 2 offices linked with a slow (64kb/s) link. They each have a samba server and a NT 4 DC. The NT servers also handle all the printing and domain logons. The samba servers are mostly just file servers. Site 1: The samba server handles WINS for everyone Site 2: The NT server is not on the LAN (on a different subnet) We had a situation last week where the link between the two sites went down and no domain logons and printing were available on site 2, because the NT server is on a different subnet, and the WINS server could not be reached. So, is there a way to replicate the WINS database between the two sites and configure the WINS server on site 2 as a backup? Thank you, Jan
Hey all, Just wondering about the current status of wrepld. Back in '02 Jean Fran?ois Micouleau was doing some work on it, but there does not appear to be any changes to the code since that spring besides updates to the entire tree that happen to touch the wrepld files. The Samba-HOWTO states that it is in "active development" and I was wondering if I could help with testing or something. I'm excited about this tool, and it would be sweet to have it in a working state. Who should I talk to about this? Thanks! Nathan Ehresman -- nre :wq

It is not complete, has a "low priority", and there is no time line. It is overshadowed by other issues in the 3.0.x release(s).
