I'm probably missing something really simple here, but... I have Samba 2.2.5 set up on RedHat 7.3, running winbind. I can retrieve lists of users and groups from the pdc. How do I set samba share permissions based on my NT groups? Thanks. Thomas Larson System Administrator WI Dept of Financial Institutions thomas.larson@dfi.state.wi.us (608) 261-9545
I am trying to setup Samba in a classroom so that a student's samba folder can be accessed via Windows by the student and the teacher. I have Samba working, but can only get the student access to the folder. How can I add another user or group to Samba so the teacher and student have full control over the folder? Thanks Tom

Force Group = whatever in the sam.conf section for that share it will put all users connecting to that share into that group, even if their account says their not in it. you can also set it so that the creator has full read/write access and the group only has read access.
