samba - May 2003 - locking.trb error message

We are seeing lots of errors in the samba logs like:

   tdb(/usr/local/samba_2.2.7/var/locks/locking.tdb): rec_read bad magic
0x4d6f4b61 at offset=36116

What do these mean?

The server is a Digital Alpha running Digital UNIX 4.0D and samba version
2.2.7, while the clients that produce these messages are running Windows
2000 Pro and XP Pro.

corrupted tdb.  Stop all instancesd of smbd, delete locking.tdb, restart 
smbd.
