I have several entries in my per-client log for my XP machine that seem odd. A snippet from my log -- the odd entries are between the sets of "=====". id 12916) [2003/05/12 16:01:53, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(640) shiva (192.168.3.20) connect to service audio as user xxx (uid=2345, gid=2345) (pid 12916) =====[2003/05/12 18:38:20, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) shiva (192.168.3.20) couldn't find service audi [2003/05/12 18:38:21, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) shiva (192.168.3.20) couldn't find service audi [2003/05/12 18:38:21, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) shiva (192.168.3.20) couldn't find service audi [2003/05/12 18:38:58, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) shiva (192.168.3.20) couldn't find service audi [2003/05/12 18:38:58, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) shiva (192.168.3.20) couldn't find service audi =====[2003/05/12 19:24:26, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(681) shiva (192.168.3.20) closed connection to service home [2003/05/12 19:24:26, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(681) shiva (192.168.3.20) closed connection to service software [2003/05/12 19:24:26, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(681) shiva (192.168.3.20) closed connection to service audio ------------------------------ It's not just audi[o], but I'll see it with other services too where it says it can't find service "X" but with the last letter cut off. Is this just a normal part of Win-XP trying to do name completion for me or something weird? Thanks, -linda
