[Samba] Problems with spaces prefixing usernames when using Samba as a PDC
Hi All, Has anybody seen (Hopefully solved ;) this problem? We're running samba 2.2.8a as a PDC for windows classrooms with an LDAP backend. What's happening is that users are waking up the windows machines by pressing the space bar and then logging in. They authenticate successfully (leading spaces ignored) but windows is miscreating the roaming profiles with leading spaces which causes the folder structure to be created incorrectly. This causes profiles to be created in the root of C: rather than in Documents and Settings. folder. The Ldap server thinks it's being asked for the username without the space but Samba shows it asking for the username with a space. AI've a feeling it's maybe the ldap server that's the problem? (Open Ldap 2.1.17) Cheers, Duncan Samba Log [2003/05/16 09:32:28, 3] rpc_server/srv_netlog_nt.c:_net_sam_logon(605) SAM Logon (Interactive). Domain:[CLASSROOM]. My understanding is that this is fixed in OpenLDAP 2.1, but I'm not sure which release. Unfortunately (for others) this bug also effects OpenLDAP 2.0, but I understand that there are no plans to fix this (serious) bug.
