So I assume you have added a DNS entry for "samba" in your router that
points to the correct IP address of your samba server?

Subject: [Samba] dhcp router and samba
I am trying to set up a linux/samba server on a win2k workgroup. I have a
di804 router with a pseudo dns and dhcp in the router.
I can ping all ip addresses from each computer including the router from
each. The ms boxes can ping by name. When I ping samba by name, I get an
error: unknown host samba.
I have configured my ms boxes to see samba as the wins server. The router
is the pseudo dns server. I think this is my problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joey Foley
