Dear All,
I set up Windows 2000 domain controller. I run samba 2.2.7a-8.9.0 on
Red Hat 9. I try to setup samba as a child of Windows 2000 domain. By
smbpasswd -j ..... as mention in samba document. It display:
smbpasswd: Joined domain DOM.
But when I can not browse shared directory via Windows. Here is the log
file.

[2003/04/21 17:35:06, 0] smbd/password.c:domain_client_validate(1599)

Would you please tell me how to solve this problem?
Thanks,

Did you specify the "PDC" in your smb.conf or are you broadcasting for it? (eg. "password server = *") Can you resolve the domain controller from your Samba machine? good luck, gary Theewara Vorakosit wrote:> Dear All, > I set up Windows 2000 domain controller. [Samba] Re: Domain password server not available
This is the same problem that I am seeing with a Win2K PDC. I can join
the domain and everything looks good, however I can not access the
directories from Windows. If I change the security to server everything
works fine, however I need the security set to domain for support with
some applications.
