Hi there ! Having some trouble here with samba. I run an internal network with 5 Clients all accessing one Samba share on the File server. All 5 Clients work very well with Samba (XP and W2k Clients). I recently attached a new computer to the Network a Notebook with a D-Link PCMCIA NIC (16bit)running XP. This Client can Read/write all other shares on the XP/W2k Clients without Trouble. But it has Trouble using the Samba share. It can write without trouble on the share, but reading/executing is troublsome. The Client only gets 7 kbits and stops after a few seconds. The log is showing these messages: [2003/01/07 23:50:54, 0] smbd/reply.c:reply_lockingX(4621) reply_lockingX: Error : oplock break from client for fnum = 10368 and no oploc k granted on this file (Eigene Bilder/Desktop.ini). But the Error is much more strange. If I use Start->Run and type \\host\share I have the full speed. But if I add the share to my networks then I see this error. I takes allways about 30 second until the share gets opened. I think windows do other think if you only "run" tu the share or if you "mount" it like I described. Any Idea? So I think it might be different problems. Bye Tim
