samba - Dec 2002 - NTLMv2 and Samba server

Does Samba server recognize NTLM2?
Since i've changed my win2K workstations registry (LMcompatibilitylevel) to
"send
NTLMv2 authentication only" (dword=3) can't connect to samba server
Any knowladge how to  solve this is wellcomed
